熊野三山を巡る旅に出発
世界遺産の熊野古道を一生に一度は歩いてみたいと思ったことがありませんか？私も以前からそう思っていました。今回、その思いが実現することとなりました。1泊2日ですが、熊野三山を超特急で巡ります。
早朝、大阪のJR天王寺駅から「特急くろしお」に乗り紀伊田辺駅へ。大阪から田辺へ向かうルートは紀伊路と呼ばれます。そこを一気に特急電車で駆け抜けました。バスに乗り換えて山々の中に入って行きます。田辺から熊野本宮大社に向かうルートは中辺路（なかへち）と呼ばれていて、熊野古道のメインルートです。
発心門王子から巡礼ウォークをスタート
今回の熊野古道歩きの出発点は発心門王子からです。王子とは、熊野の神の御子神を祀っている場所です。巡礼の道の道標のような目印になっています。そういえば、大阪の安倍晴明神社を紹介したブログで、大阪にある唯一の熊野古道の王子、阿部王子神社を紹介しましたが、覚えていらっしゃいますか？地元ではこの発心門王子からのクライマックスルートを「お姫様コース」と呼んでいて、雰囲気がよく、歩きやすいコースだそうです。バス停から少し中辺路を戻ると発心門王子の祠に向かいます。
いよいよスタートです。本日は熊野本宮大社までですので、10㎞もありませんが熊野古道を自分の足で歩いてみます。今回は、スペインの巡礼路サンチャゴ・デ・コンポステーラとの共通巡礼スタンプラリー用紙を準備しています。各ポイントに置いてあるスタンプを押し行くつもりですが、発心門王子のスタンプを押そうとすると、設置されている赤のスタンプインクが乾燥しかけていて、非常に薄いスタンプしか押せませんでした。スタンプラリーをされる方は、ご自身のスタンプインクを持参されることをお勧めします。
舗装道から山道に入っていきます
気を取り直して巡礼スタートです。最初は舗装された道を辿っていきます。途中、なにやり木彫りの置物群に遭遇します。売り物か置物か不明です。少し行くと、神の使い八咫烏（やたがらす）の置物が、次のポイントへの道順を示してくれています。いよいよ木々の生い茂る道に入っていきます。
今回、地元のガイドの方に御案内をしてもらいました。最初に出くわしたお地蔵様は、歯痛のお地蔵さんでした。田辺から熊野本宮大社へ続く巡礼路、中辺路は普通に歩くと3日程度かかります。また、昔は京都から淀川を船で下り、現在の私が勤める事務所に近い大阪の天満橋辺りで下船して、ずっと徒歩での旅ですから、歯が痛くなる人も当然いたはずです。知らない土地で、しかも山の中で歯医者は見つからないので、お地蔵様にすがるしか仕方なかったのでしょう。そうこうしている内に、水呑王子に到着しました。ここのお地蔵さまは腰痛に御利益があるそうで、私もお賽銭を多めに置いてきました。（つづく）

Set off on a trip to the three Kumano Grand Shrines
Have you ever wanted to walk the World Heritage Site, Kumano Kodo at least once in your life? I have always wanted to do just that. This time, my wish has become a reality, as I will tour the three Kumano Grand Shrines just in one night and two days.
Early in the morning, I took the “Express Kuroshio” train from JR Tennoji Station in Osaka to Kii-Tanabe Station. The route from Osaka to Tanabe is called Kiiji Route, and I took the express train and arrived at Tanabe just in 3 hours. I changed to a bus and went into the mountains. The route from Tanabe to Kumano Hongu Grand Shrine is called Nakahechi, and is the main route of the Kumano Kodo.
Starting the pilgrimage walk from Hosshinmon Oji.
The starting point for this Kumano Kodo walk was the Hashinmon Oji. The Oji is a place where the Son of the God of Kumano is enshrined. It is a landmark like a signpost on the pilgrimage path. By the way, do you remember that in my blog introducing Abe-no-Seimei Shrine in Osaka, I introduced Abe-no-Oji Shrine, the only Kumano Kodo Oji in Osaka? The locals call this climactic route from Hosshinmon Oji the “princess course,” which has a nice atmosphere and is easy to walk. From the bus stop, a short walk back along the Nakahichi Route will take you to the shrine of Hosshinmon Oji.
Finally, I am off to the start. Today I will be walking to Kumano Hongu Grand Shrine, so although it is less than 10 km, I will be walking the Kumano Kodo on my own. This time, I have prepared a pilgrimage stamp rally form that is shared with the pilgrimage route Santiago de Compostela in Spain. When I tried to stamp at Hosshinmon Oji, the red stamp ink was almost dried out and I could only stamp very thinly. It is recommended that stamp rally participants bring their own stamp ink.
The paved road turns into a mountain path.
I got myself together and started my pilgrimage. At first, I followed the paved road. On the way, I came across a group of carved wooden figurines. It was unclear whether they were for sale or figurines. A little further on, a figurine of Yatagarasu (crow with 3 legs), a messenger of the gods, shows me the way to the next point. Finally, I entered a road full of trees.

The pilgrimage route from Tanabe to Kumano Hongu Grand Shrine, Nakahechi, takes about three days if you walk it completely. In the old days, they had to go down the Yodo River from Kyoto by boat, disembark at Tenmabashi in Osaka, which is close to the office where I work now, and walk all the way, so naturally there must have been people who got toothache. Since it was impossible to find a dentist in a country side and in the mountains, they must have had no choice but to rely on Jizo Bodhisattva. In the meantime, I arrived at Mizunomi Oji. The Jizo Bodhisattva here is said to be beneficial for back pain, so I left more money for him. (To be continued)

Partez à la découverte des trois grands sanctuaires de Kumano.
Avez-vous déjà voulu marcher sur le site du patrimoine mondial, Kumano Kodo, au moins une fois dans votre vie ? C’est exactement ce que j’ai toujours voulu faire. Cette fois, mon souhait est devenu réalité, car je vais visiter les trois grands sanctuaires de Kumano en une seule nuit et deux jours.
Tôt le matin, j’ai pris le train “Express Kuroshio” de la gare JR Tennoji d’Osaka à la gare de Kii-Tanabe. La route d’Osaka à Tanabe s’appelle la route Kiiji, et j’ai pris le train express et suis arrivé à Tanabe en 3 heures seulement. J’ai changé pour un bus et suis allé dans les montagnes. La route de Tanabe au grand sanctuaire de Kumano Hongu s’appelle Nakahechi, et c’est la route principale du Kumano Kodo.

Le point de départ de cette marche de Kumano Kodo était le Hashinmon Oji. L’Oji est un lieu où le fils du Dieu de Kumano est enchâssé. C’est un point de repère comme un panneau indicateur sur le chemin de pèlerinage. À propos, vous souvenez-vous que dans mon blog présentant le sanctuaire Abe-no-Seimei à Osaka, j’ai présenté le sanctuaire Abe-no-Oji, le seul Kumano Kodo Oji à Osaka ? Les locaux appellent ce parcours climatisé depuis Hosshinmon Oji le “parcours de la princesse”, qui a une atmosphère agréable et est facile à parcourir. Depuis l’arrêt de bus, une courte promenade le long de la route Nakahichi vous mènera au sanctuaire de Hosshinmon Oji.
Enfin, je suis prêt à commencer. Aujourd’hui, je vais marcher jusqu’au grand sanctuaire de Kumano Hongu, donc bien que ce soit moins de 10 km, je vais marcher le Kumano Kodo tout seul. Cette fois, j’ai préparé un formulaire de rallye pour le timbre de pèlerinage qui est partagé avec le chemin de pèlerinage de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle en Espagne. Lorsque j’ai essayé de tamponner à Hosshinmon Oji, l’encre rouge du tampon était presque sèche et je n’ai pu tamponner que très finement. Il est recommandé aux participants au rallye de tamponner en apportant leur propre encre.
La route pavée se transforme en un chemin de montagne.
Je me suis ressaisi et j’ai commencé mon pèlerinage. Au début, j’ai suivi la route pavée. En chemin, je suis tombé sur un groupe de figurines en bois sculpté. Je ne savais pas si elles étaient à vendre ou si elles étaient des figurines. Un peu plus loin, une figurine de Yatagarasu (corbeau à 3 pattes), un messager des dieux, m’indique le chemin vers le prochain point. Enfin, je suis entré dans une route pleine d’arbres.

Le chemin de pèlerinage de Tanabe au grand sanctuaire de Kumano Hongu, à Nakahechi, prend environ trois jours si on le parcourt entièrement. Autrefois, il fallait descendre la rivière Yodo depuis Kyoto en bateau, débarquer à Tenmabashi à Osaka, qui est proche du bureau où je travaille actuellement, et marcher tout le long du chemin, donc naturellement, des gens ont dû avoir mal aux dents. Comme il était impossible de trouver un dentiste à la campagne et dans les montagnes, ils n’ont dû avoir d’autre choix que de s’en remettre à Jizo Bodhisattva. Entre-temps, je suis arrivé à Mizunomi Oji. On dit que Jizo Bodhisattva est bénéfique pour les maux de dos, alors j’ai laissé plus d’argent pour lui. (A suivre)
