那智山参道を登る
大門坂を登り終えて平地に出たかと思いましたが、山道はまだ続きます。舗装されているのですが、木々がない分、直射日光に晒されるため汗がさらに出てきます。この道は那智山参道と呼ばれ、これから目指す熊野那智大社と、西国三十三霊場の第一番札所、青岸渡寺に通じています。
疲れた足を引きずりながら、ようやく第一鳥居の所までたどり着きました。そこからさらに急な石段が始まっています。でも、もう少しで着きます。熊野本宮大社、熊野速玉大社と巡り、熊野三山の最後の神社、熊野那智大社が目の前に見えてきました。
熊野那智大社に到着
階段を登り切って鳥居をくぐると、境内にはたくさんの人が並んでいます。みなさん拝殿でのお参りの順番を待っています。ここから来た道を振り返ると、青い空に緑の山が見えます。熊野の山々は本当に緑が深くて、青空に似合います。それらを背景にして、神社の朱色の社殿が際立っています。
お参りの行列に並んでいる途中、護摩木がありました。私も一本購入し、火の中に護摩木を投じました。ようやく自分の番が回ってきて、お参りをしました。無事に熊野三山を回れたことを感謝しました。拝殿の隣には、八咫烏の社殿があります。こちらのお社にもお参りいたしました。
熊野の神様のお使い、八咫烏は、熊野の方々に大切にされていることが分かります。この神社でも八咫烏のおみくじを販売していましたので、１つ購入しました。
青岸渡寺から那智の滝へ
熊野那智大社の境内を抜けると、すぐ横に青岸渡寺が隣接しています。西国霊場の巡礼も1年以上かけて行っていますので、お参りをして、御朱印をいただきました。このお寺の本堂横からは、三重塔と那智の滝が見えています。ここからは、坂道の下りです。那智の滝まで歩いていこうと思います。（つづく）

Kumano Kodo (Ancient Road) (9) Kumano Nachi Grand Shrine (English)
Climbing up the approach to Nachi-san (mountain)
After climbing up Daimonzaka Slope, I thought I was on level ground, but the mountain road continued. It was paved, but the lack of trees and direct sunlight made me sweat even more. This road is called Nachisan Approach, and it leads to Kumano Nachi Grand Shrine and Seigantoji Temple, the first temple of the 33 sacred places in the western Japan.
Dragging my tired legs, I finally reached the first torii gate. From there, the stone stairs started to get even steeper. But I was almost there. After visiting Kumano Hongu Grand Shrine and Kumano Hayatama Grand Shrine, the last of the three Kumano shrines, Kumano Nachi Grand Shrine, came into view.

As I climbed the stairs and passed through the torii gate, there were many people lined up in the precincts. Everyone was waiting for their turn to pray at the shrine. Looking back the way I came from, I could see the green mountains against the blue sky. The mountains of Kumano are really deep green and go well with the blue sky. Against this background, the vermilion shrine pavilions stood out.
While standing in line for prayers, I saw a gomagi. I bought one and threw it into the fire. Finally, it was my turn to pray and I did so. I thanked God that I was able to visit the three Kumano shrines safely. Next to the shrine, there was a shrine of Yatagarasu. I paid my respect at this shrine as well.
The Yatagarasu, a messenger of the God of Kumano, is very important to the people of Kumano. This shrine also sold Yatagarasu fortunes, so I bought one.
From Seigantoji Temple to Nachi Falls
After passing through the precincts of Kumano Nachi Grand Shrine, Seigantoji Temple was right next to it. Since I had spent more than a year making pilgrimages to the sacred sites in the western part of Japan, I paid a visit to the temple and received a red seal. From the side of the main hall of this temple, I could see the three-story pagoda and Nachi Falls. From here, it was a downhill walk. I was going to walk to Nachi Falls. (To be continued)

Ascension de l’approche de Nachi-san (montagne)
Après avoir gravi la pente de Daimonzaka, je pensais être sur un terrain plat, mais la route de montagne continuait. Elle était pavée, mais l’absence d’arbres et la lumière directe du soleil m’ont fait transpirer encore plus. Cette route s’appelle Nachisan Approach, et elle mène au Grand sanctuaire de Kumano Nachi et au temple Seigantoji, le premier des 33 lieux sacrés de l’ouest du Japon.
En traînant mes jambes fatiguées, j’ai finalement atteint la première porte torii. A partir de là, les escaliers de pierre ont commencé à devenir encore plus raides. Mais j’étais presque arrivé. Après avoir visité le Grand sanctuaire de Kumano Hongu et le Grand sanctuaire de Kumano Hayatama, le dernier des trois sanctuaires de Kumano, Kumano Nachi Taisha, est apparu.
Arrivée au Grand sanctuaire de Kumano Nachi
Alors que je montais les escaliers et passais la porte du torii, de nombreuses personnes faisaient la queue dans l’enceinte. Chacun attend son tour pour prier au sanctuaire. En regardant en arrière, je pouvais voir les montagnes vertes contre le ciel bleu. Les montagnes de Kumano étaient vraiment d’un vert profond et allaient bien avec le ciel bleu. Sur ce fond, les pavillons vermillon du sanctuaire se détachaient.
En faisant la queue pour les prières, j’ai vu un gomagi. J’en ai acheté un et je l’ai jeté dans le feu. Enfin, c’était mon tour de prier et je l’ai fait. J’ai remercié Dieu d’avoir pu visiter les trois sanctuaires de Kumano en toute sécurité. À côté du sanctuaire, il y a un sanctuaire de Yatagarasu. J’ai également présenté mes respects à ce sanctuaire.
Le Yatagarasu, un messager du Dieu de Kumano, est très important pour les habitants de Kumano. Ce sanctuaire vendait aussi des sorts Yatagarasu, alors j’en ai acheté un.
Du temple de Seigantoji aux chutes de Nachi
Après avoir traversé l’enceinte du Grand sanctuaire de Kumano Nachi, le temple Seigantoji se trouvait juste à côté. Comme j’ai passé plus d’un an à faire des pèlerinages dans les sites sacrés de la partie occidentale du Japon, j’ai rendu visite au temple et reçu un sceau rouge. Du côté de la salle principale de ce temple, je pouvais voir la pagode à trois étages et les chutes de Nachi. De là, c’était une marche en descente. J’allais marcher jusqu’aux chutes de Nachi.
