太鼓橋の写真
大阪の天王寺から阪堺電鉄という路面電車が出ています。その停車駅が摂津国一の宮の住吉大社のまん前です。記憶が定かではないのですが、小さいころに兄と二人、親に連れてきてもらったことがあるようで、太鼓橋を背景に撮った写真があります。
海外からのお客さんは寺社仏閣を京都・奈良で見て、大阪では大阪城やなんば・心斎橋の街を楽しんで満足される方が多いので、住吉大社まで来られる方は少なそうです。遠い昔、遣唐使は、ここで航海の無事を祈って東シナ海に漕ぎ出していきましたが、それも今は昔の話です。
本宮の特殊な配置
地元で言う「住吉っさん」には、後方から第一・第二・第三本宮が縦直列、一番手前で第三・第四本宮が横並列という独特の配列で大海原を行く船団のような配置になっています。やはり航海の神様をお祀りしていることが関係しているのでしょか。
一寸法師発祥の地
最近まで知らなかったのですが、住吉大社はおとぎ話の「一寸法師」発祥の地でもあります。話の冒頭で、住吉大明神にお祈りし、そのお陰で子供を授かるところから始まります。そのため子授けの神様としてのお社もあります。
先日、あるセミナーで大学の先生のお話を聞いたところ、一寸法師には後日談があり、打ち出の小槌で大きくなったあと、美しい姫と婚姻したそうですが、どうも夫婦仲がうまくいかなかったようです。原因は皆さん調べてみてください。ガイドの際の小話になりますから。（完）

Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine (English)

There is a streetcar line called Hankai Electric Railways that runs from Tennoji in Osaka. Its stop is right in front of Sumiyoshi Taisha, the first shrine in Settsu Province. I’m not sure if I remember it correctly, but my brother and I were taken there by our parents when we were little, and I have a photo of the Taiko Bridge in the background.
Most of the visitors from overseas are satisfied with seeing the temples and shrines in Kyoto and Nara, and enjoying Osaka Castle and the streets of Namba and Shinsaibashi in Osaka, so it seems that few of them come to Sumiyoshi Taisha. In the distant past, envoys to China prayed here for safe voyages and rowed out to the East China Sea, but that is a long time ago now.
Special arrangement of the main shrine
In the local term “Sumiyoshi-san”, the first, second, and third main shrines are placed in a vertical line from the rear, and the third and fourth shrines are placed in a horizontal line in front of them, in a unique arrangement that resembles a fleet of ships on the ocean. I wonder if this has something to do with the fact that the god of navigation is enshrined here.
Birthplace of (Issun Boshi) One-Dimensional Man
I didn’t know it until recently, but the Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine is also the birthplace of the fairy tale “Issun Boshi (One-Dimensional Man)”. In the beginning of the story, his parents prayed to the god of Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine, and thanks to their prayers, they were blessed with a child. For this reason, there is also a shrine dedicated to the god of childbirth.
At a seminar the other day, I listened to a university professor who told me that there was a later story about Issun Boshi (one-dimensional man) who, after growing up with a hammer of treasure, married a beautiful princess, but the couple did not get along well. Please check the reason why they did not get along. It will be a good story for your guiding. (End)
Sanctuaire Sumiyoshi Taisha (Français)

Il existe une ligne de tramway appelée Hankai Electric Railways qui part de Tennoji à Osaka. Son arrêt se trouve juste devant le Sumiyoshi Taisha, le premier sanctuaire de la province de Settsu. Je ne suis pas sûr de m’en souvenir correctement, mais mon frère et moi y avons été emmenés par nos parents quand nous étions petits, et j’ai une photo du pont Taiko en arrière-plan.
La plupart des visiteurs étrangers se contentent de visiter les temples et les sanctuaires de Kyoto et de Nara, et de profiter du château d’Osaka et des rues de Namba et de Shinsaibashi à Osaka, il semble donc que peu d’entre eux viennent au Sumiyoshi Taisha. Dans un passé lointain, les envoyés de la Chine priaient ici pour que leurs voyages soient sûrs et ramaient jusqu’à la mer de Chine orientale, mais c’était il y a longtemps.
Aménagement spécial du sanctuaire principal
Dans le terme local “Sumiyoshi-san”, les premier, deuxième et troisième sanctuaires principaux sont placés en ligne verticale depuis l’arrière, et les troisième et quatrième sanctuaires sont placés en ligne horizontale devant eux, dans une disposition unique qui ressemble à une flotte de navires sur l’océan. Je me demande si cela n’a pas quelque chose à voir avec le fait que le dieu de la navigation est consacré ici.
Lieu de naissance de l’homme unidimensionnel (Issun Boshi)
Je ne le savais pas jusqu’à récemment, mais le sanctuaire Sumiyoshi Taisha est également le lieu de naissance du conte de fées “Issun Boshi (homme unidimensionnel)”. Au début de l’histoire, ses parents ont prié le dieu du sanctuaire Sumiyoshi Taisha, et grâce à leurs prières, ils ont été bénis avec un enfant. C’est pourquoi il existe également un sanctuaire dédié au dieu de l’accouchement.
L’autre jour, lors d’un séminaire, j’ai écouté un professeur d’université qui m’a raconté qu’il existait une histoire plus tard sur Issun Boshi (homme unidimensionnel) qui, après avoir grandi avec un marteau de trésor, a épousé une belle princesse, mais le couple ne s’est pas bien entendu. Veuillez vérifier la raison pour laquelle ils ne s’entendaient pas. Ce sera une bonne histoire pour votre guide. (Fin)
