雲龍院

泉涌寺からもう少し奥に行くと塔頭寺院の雲龍院に着きます。受付で「雲龍院の『へぇ～』ポイント」を記した紙をもらえるのですが、ポイント集がなくても、ここは見せ方が上手いなと感心することが多い庭園です。「大輪の間」から回りましたが、額縁効果が非常に効いています。

部屋の左側には、庭に面するように椅子が並んでいて、その前にこぶし大の石が並べられています。座りなが椅子を鑑賞する人が、土踏まずで石を踏んで、よりリラックスして庭を眺めることができます。

移動して「れんげの間」に行きますと、雪見障子の四角いガラスから、それぞれ異なる庭の絵が切り取られます。あるポイントに座りますと、左のガラスから椿・灯篭・楓・松が、こちらを見つめています。

ここでは、お抹茶とお茶菓子を好きな場所でいただくことができます。私は円窓の前でいただくことにしました。書院「悟りの間」の円窓は「悟りの窓」と呼ばれ、訪れる度に、その風景を変化させるそうです。畳は苦手なのですが、足を崩してリラックスしながら頂戴しました。

ほかにも、賀茂川真黒石の観音石像や、灯篭がポツンと可愛いい中庭など、訪れた人を飽きさせない工夫が詰まっています。これぞ、もてなしの和の心なのかもと感じ入りました。コロナが落ち着いたら、妻を最初に連れていきたいお庭です。（完）

Unryuin Temple (English)

A little further in from Sennyu-ji Temple, you will arrive at Unryuin, a Sub-temple. At the reception desk, you will be given a piece of paper with “points of interest” in Unryuin, but even without the list of points, you will be impressed with the way the garden is presented. I started from the “Owa-no-ma” (Great Wheel Room), and the framing effect was very effective.

On the left side of the room, there is a row of chairs facing the garden, with fist-sized stones in front of them, so that people sitting on them can step on the stones with their toes and enjoy the garden in a more relaxed way.

Moving on to the “Renge-no-ma” room, different pictures of the garden are cut out from the square glass of the Yukimi-shoji screens. If you sit at one point, you can see camellias, lanterns, maples, and pine trees staring at you from the left glass.

Here, you can enjoy matcha green tea and tea sweets anywhere you like. I chose to have my tea in front of the round window. The round window in the Shoin “Room of Enlightenment” is called the “Window of Enlightenment,” and it is said that the scenery changes every time you visit. I’m not a big fan of tatami mats, but I enjoyed the meal while relaxing on my feet.

In addition, there is a stone statue of Kannon (the Goddess of Mercy) made from the Kamo River’s Maguro (real black) stone and a lovely courtyard with lanterns to keep visitors entertained. I felt that this was the Japanese spirit of hospitality. This is the garden I would like to take my wife to first after Covid 19 settles down. (End)

Temple Unryuin (Français)

Un peu plus loin du temple Sennyu-ji, vous arriverez à Unryuin, un sous-temple. À la réception, on vous remettra une feuille de papier avec les “points d’intérêt” d’Unryuin, mais même sans la liste des points, vous serez impressionné par la façon dont le jardin est présenté. J’ai commencé par l'”Owa-no-ma” (salle de la grande roue), et l’effet de cadrage était très efficace.

Sur le côté gauche de la pièce, il y a une rangée de chaises face au jardin, avec des pierres de la taille d’un poing devant elles, afin que les personnes assises puissent marcher sur les pierres avec leurs orteils et profiter du jardin de manière plus détendue.

Dans la salle “Renge-no-ma”, différentes images du jardin sont découpées dans le verre carré des écrans Yukimi-shoji. Si vous vous asseyez à un endroit, vous pouvez voir des camélias, des lanternes, des érables et des pins qui vous regardent depuis le verre de gauche.

Ici, vous pouvez déguster du thé vert matcha et des bonbons au thé où vous le souhaitez. J’ai choisi de prendre mon thé devant la fenêtre ronde. La fenêtre ronde de la “salle de l’illumination” de Shoin est appelée la “fenêtre de l’illumination”, et on dit que le paysage change à chaque visite. Je ne suis pas un grand fan des tatamis, mais j’ai apprécié le repas tout en me relaxant sur mes pieds.

En outre, il y a une statue en pierre de Kannon (la déesse de la miséricorde) faite de la pierre Maguro (véritable noir) de la rivière Kamo et une jolie cour avec des lanternes pour distraire les visiteurs. J’ai senti que c’était l’esprit d’hospitalité des Japonais. C’est le jardin dans lequel j’aimerais emmener ma femme en premier après que le Covid 19 se soit installé. (Fin)
