岩間寺

月に一度の直通シャトルバス

いつ行こうかと考えていましたが、午後に大津市でのアポイントを取ることができ、その午前中に行こうと決めました。毎月17日はJR・京阪石山駅からシャトルバスが出ているので、それに乗ることにしました。

駅前のバス乗り場に行くと、既に長蛇の列。なんとか乗り込みましたが、西国霊場巡りの御高齢の方々で立錐の余地なしの状況でした。終点の岩間寺まで降りる人はいないので、混んだまま山道をジグザグする30分程度の行程でした。

スタンプラリーに突進！

岩間寺のバス停に到着すると、みなさん速足で本堂へ向かいます。御朱印を書いてもらおうと必死の形相です。私はドア近くに乗っていたので、先頭グループで本堂をお参りできました。“これはスタンプラリーか！”っと一人怒ってどなっているお爺さんがいましたが、現実、そうなのでしょう。

桂の樹々

お参りのあと、奥の坂を少し下りたところに宇治市名木百選に選ばれている日本一の長寿桂があります。樹齢何年なのかは知らないのですが、たくさんの細い木が固まって大木のような姿になっていて、とても奇異な感じがしました。

お寺の正式名称は、岩間山正法寺（真言宗醍醐派）で、西国12番札所になります。往路のバスのジグザグも結構、体にこたえましたが、ここを徒歩で歩くのは遠慮したいと感じて、帰りもシャトルバスに乗りました。（完）

Iwamadera Temple (English)

Direct shuttle bus once a month

I had been thinking about when I should go, but I was able to make an appointment in Otsu City in the afternoon and decided to go that morning. On the 17th of every month, there are shuttle buses from JR and Keihan Ishiyama station, so I decided to take one.

When I went to the bus stop in front of the station, there was already a long line. I managed to get on the bus, but it was packed with elderly people on a pilgrimage to the sacred sites in the western part of Japan. No one got off the bus until Iwamadera Temple, the last stop, so we zigzagged along the crowded mountain road for about 30 minutes.

Rush to the stamp rally!

When we arrived at the Iwamadera Temple bus stop, everyone headed for the main hall as fast as they could. They were desperate to get a red seal written. Since I was riding near the door, I was able to visit the main hall with the first group. I heard one old man yelling angrily, “Is this a stamp rally?

After visiting the shrine, a little further down the hill, there is a long-lived laurel tree, which has been selected as one of the 100 best trees in Uji City. I don’t know how old it is, but it looked very strange to see so many thin trees clumped together to form what looked like a big tree.

The official name of the temple is Iwama-zan Shobō-ji Temple (Daigo-ha, Shingon sect), and it is the 12th temple in the western part of Japan. The zigzagging of the bus on the way out was quite tough on my body, but I felt I didn’t want to walk here, so I took the shuttle bus on the way back. (End)

Navette directe une fois par mois

J’avais réfléchi à la date à laquelle je devais y aller, mais j’ai pu prendre un rendez-vous à Otsu City dans l’après-midi et j’ai décidé d’y aller le matin même. Le 17 de chaque mois, il y a des navettes à partir de la gare JR et Keihan Ishiyama, j’ai donc décidé d’en prendre une.

Lorsque je me suis rendu à l’arrêt de bus situé devant la gare, il y avait déjà une longue file d’attente. J’ai réussi à monter dans le bus, mais il était bondé de personnes âgées en pèlerinage vers les sites sacrés de la partie occidentale du Japon. Personne n’est descendu du bus avant le temple Iwamadera, le dernier arrêt, et nous avons donc zigzagué sur la route de montagne bondée pendant environ 30 minutes.

Ruée vers le rallye du timbre !

Lorsque nous sommes arrivés à l’arrêt de bus du temple Iwamadera, tout le monde s’est dirigé vers le hall principal aussi vite que possible. Ils étaient désespérés d’obtenir un sceau rouge écrit. Comme je roulais près de la porte, j’ai pu visiter le hall principal avec le premier groupe. J’ai entendu un vieil homme crier rageusement : “Est-ce un rallye de timbres ?

Après avoir visité le sanctuaire, un peu plus bas sur la colline, on trouve un laurier à longue durée de vie, qui a été sélectionné comme l’un des 100 meilleurs arbres de la ville d’Uji. Je ne sais pas quel âge il a, mais il était très étrange de voir tant d’arbres minces regroupés pour former ce qui ressemblait à un grand arbre.

Le nom officiel du temple est Iwama-zan Shobō-ji Temple (Daigo-ha, secte Shingon), et c’est le 12e temple de la partie occidentale du Japon. Le zigzag du bus à l’aller était assez dur pour mon corps, mais j’ai senti que je ne voulais pas marcher ici, alors j’ai pris la navette au retour. (Fin)
