八幡堀での休日
妻と近江八幡に行こうと決めて自家用車で発進。何年か前のNHKの朝ドラ「朝が来た」が好きで、その撮影でも使われた八幡堀を訪れたいとのリクエストを前々から受けていました。クラブハリエのラコリーナでバウムクーヘンを食べることも旅程に含めました。
道は順調で、最初に西国霊場第31番 姨綺耶山 長命寺に向かいます。琵琶湖沿いの道を少し走って山麓の入口まできました。ここから石段を歩いて登ることもできますが、妻と一緒なので車で突入することを選びました。
石段は迂回して車で登坂
狭い道で下りてくる車とのすれ違いに苦労しながらも、駐車場に到着。そこからも少し石段を上るので、妻にも石段の参道を経験してもらいました。門をくぐってすぐ上に本堂があります。御本尊は千手十一面聖観世音菩薩様です。
黒っぽい本堂とその前方の朱色っぽいお堂や、後方の三重塔とコントラストが美しい調和を境内で形成しています。ここには自然崇拝色の濃い、修多羅岩などの巨石が多く祀られています。大きな琵琶湖を眼下にする場所なので、自然への畏敬を感じる場所なのだと思います。

もう少し奥に進むと琵琶湖を一望できる場所に出ます。少し曇っていましたが穏やかな湖面が見渡せます。トビが一羽、湖面近くからゆったりと風に乗り私たちの目の前から更に上に舞い上がっていきました。駐車場の場所から下につづく石段の長さを見て、車で登ってきて良かったねと、妻と顔を見合わせました。（完）

Holiday at Hachimanbori
My wife and I decided to visit Omi Hachiman City and set off in our own car. She loved the NHK morning drama series “Asa ga Kita” (The Morning Has Come) from a few years ago, and had been requesting to visit the Hachimanbori moat, which was used in the filming of the drama. I also included eating Baumkuchen at La Collina in Club Harrier in my itinerary.
The road was smooth, and we first headed for the 31st sacred site in the western part of Japan, Chomeiji Temple. We drove along the road along Lake Biwa for a while and came to the entrance at the foot of the mountain. From here, we could have walked up the stone steps, but since I was with my wife, we chose to drive in.
Stone steps are bypassed and driven uphill.
We arrived at the parking lot, struggling to pass cars coming down the narrow road. From there, we walked up a few stone steps so my wife could experience the stone path. After passing through the gate, the main hall is just above. The main deity is the thousand-armed eleven-faced Saint Kannon Bodhisattva.
The contrast between the blackish main hall, the vermilionish hall in front of it, and the three-story pagoda behind it forms a beautiful harmony in the temple grounds. Many huge rocks, such as Shudara Rock, are enshrined here, which are deeply worshipped in nature. It is a place where you can feel the reverence for nature because you can see the large Lake Biwa below.

A little further in, we came to a place where we could see Lake Biwa in full view. It was a little cloudy, but we could see the calm surface of the lake. One flying squirrel soared up from near the surface of the lake, riding the breeze slowly in front of us. Looking at the length of the stone steps leading down from the parking lot, my wife and I looked at each other and said, “It’s a good thing we came up here by car. (End)

Vacances à Hachimanbori
Ma femme et moi avons décidé de visiter la ville d’Omi Hachiman et sommes partis avec notre propre voiture. Elle a adoré la série dramatique matinale de la NHK “Asa ga Kita” (Le matin est arrivé) d’il y a quelques années, et avait demandé à visiter les douves de Hachimanbori, qui ont été utilisées pour le tournage de la série. J’ai également inclus dans mon itinéraire un repas de Baumkuchen à La Collina au Club Harrier.
La route était lisse, et nous nous sommes d’abord dirigés vers le 31e site sacré de la partie occidentale du Japon, le temple Chomeiji. Nous avons roulé un moment sur la route qui longe le lac Biwa et sommes arrivés à l’entrée au pied de la montagne. De là, nous aurions pu monter les marches en pierre, mais comme j’étais avec ma femme, nous avons choisi d’entrer en voiture.
Les marches en pierre sont contournées et montées.
Nous sommes arrivés au parking, luttant pour dépasser les voitures qui descendaient la route étroite. De là, nous avons monté quelques marches en pierre pour que ma femme puisse découvrir le chemin en pierre. Après avoir franchi la porte, le hall principal se trouve juste au-dessus. La divinité principale est la Sainte Kannon Bodhisattva aux mille bras et onze visages.
Le contraste entre la salle principale noirâtre, la salle vermillon située devant et la pagode à trois étages située derrière forme une belle harmonie dans l’enceinte du temple. De nombreux rochers énormes, comme le rocher Shudara, sont enchâssés ici, qui sont profondément vénérés dans la nature. C’est un endroit où l’on peut ressentir le respect de la nature car on peut voir le grand lac Biwa en contrebas.

Un peu plus loin, nous sommes arrivés à un endroit où nous pouvions voir le lac Biwa en pleine lumière. Le temps était un peu nuageux, mais nous pouvions voir la surface calme du lac. Un écureuil volant s’est élevé près de la surface du lac, chevauchant lentement la brise devant nous. En regardant la longueur des marches en pierre qui descendent du parking, ma femme et moi nous sommes regardés et avons dit : “C’est une bonne chose que nous soyons venus ici en voiture”. (Fin)
