今城塚古墳

継体天皇の陵墓？

大阪府の北部、高槻市にある今城塚古墳。宮内庁は別の古墳を継体天皇陵としていますが、どうもこちらの今城塚古墳が継体天皇陵であることの方が確からしいと言われています。宮内庁の管理ではないため、公園として整備されているので、墳墓の上も自由に歩くことができます。少し離れたバス停から歩いて来ると、堀の外周に再現された円筒型の埴輪が並んでいます。水堀も超えていけるように道が整備されています。

御陵の上を歩く

古市古墳群を訪れた際に、小さな古墳の上を歩いたことがありますが、今回は天皇陵に足を踏み入れることになります。古墳の上は、雑木林のようになっていて、周遊できるような道ができています。かつては、墳丘を高台として利用したためか、元の形からは崩れているようです。それでも御陵の上を歩いているというのは、感慨深いものです。

おそらく小学生達も学習を兼ねて訪れるのでしょう。古墳の地面には、その場所の学習ポイントを掲示した小さなパネルが打ち込まれています。すべてを確認したわけではありませんが、歴史好きな子供にとっては、まさに歴史の現場を体感しながら学べる場所になっています。

古墳を登った側と反対側の堀におりてきました。こちらは水が枯れています。前方後円の形の円の部分がハッキリわかります。また、円と方形の接続部分のくびれに出っ張りがあるのも確認できます。

埴輪がいっぱい

少し古墳から離れて、展望デッキに登ってみると、さまざまな形をした復元埴輪がならべられているのを見ることができます。本来は古墳を守るように並べられていたのでしょうか。今となっては、往時を想像するしかないのですが、1500年以上前に、確かに存在した大王の営みを感じることができました。（完）

Imashirozuka Tumulus (English)

Emperor Keitai’s mausoleum?

The Imashirozuka burial mound is located in Takatsuki City in the northern part of Osaka Prefecture. The Imperial Household Agency claims that another tomb is the mausoleum of Emperor Keitai, but it is said that this one is more likely to be the mausoleum of Emperor Keitai. Since the tomb is not managed by the Imperial Household Agency, it is maintained as a park, and you can walk freely on the tomb. If you walk from the bus stop a short distance away, you can see the cylindrical haniwa (clay figurines) that have been reproduced around the perimeter of the moat. The path is also maintained so that you can go over the water moat.

Walking on the mausoleum

I had walked on top of a small tomb when I visited the Furuichi Tumulus Group, but this time I was stepping into the Emperor’s Mausoleum. The top of the mound is a wooded area with a path that allows me to walk around it. Perhaps because the mound was once used as an elevated platform, it seems to have collapsed from its original shape. Still, walking on top of the mausoleum is a deeply moving experience.

Probably elementary school students also visit the site for learning purposes. On the ground of the tomb, there are small panels with learning points for the place. I did not check all of them, but for children who love history, this is a place where they can learn while experiencing the site of history.

I came down to the moat on the other side of the tomb. The water has dried up here. I could clearly see the circle in the shape of a frontal rear circle. I could also see the protrusion in the neck of the connection between the circle and the square.

A lot of clay figurines

If you go up to the observation deck, you can see various shapes of reconstructed Haniwa clay images. I wonder if they were originally laid out to protect the tomb. Now I can only imagine what it must have been like in the past, but I could feel the activity of the great king who certainly existed more than 1,500 years ago. (End)

Tumulus Imashirozuka (français)

Le mausolée de l’empereur Keitai ?

Le tumulus d’Imashirozuka est situé dans la ville de Takatsuki, dans le nord de la préfecture d’Osaka. L’Agence de la maison impériale affirme qu’une autre tombe est le mausolée de l’empereur Keitai, mais on dit qu’il est plus probable que celle-ci soit le mausolée de l’empereur Keitai. Comme la tombe n’est pas gérée par l’Agence de la Maison Impériale, elle est entretenue comme un parc, et vous pouvez vous y promener librement. Si vous marchez depuis l’arrêt de bus situé à une courte distance, vous pourrez voir les haniwa (figurines d’argile) cylindriques qui ont été reproduites autour du périmètre des douves. Le chemin est également entretenu pour que vous puissiez passer au-dessus des douves.

Marche sur le mausolée

J’avais déjà marché sur le sommet d’une petite tombe lors de ma visite du groupe de tumulus de Furuichi, mais cette fois, j’entrais dans le mausolée de l’empereur. Le sommet du tumulus est une zone boisée avec un chemin qui me permet d’en faire le tour. Peut-être parce que le monticule était autrefois utilisé comme une plate-forme surélevée, il semble s’être effondré de sa forme originale. Toujours est-il que marcher au sommet du mausolée est une expérience profondément émouvante.

Il est probable que des élèves d’écoles primaires visitent également le site à des fins d’apprentissage. Sur le sol de la tombe, il y a de petits panneaux avec des points d’apprentissage pour le lieu. Je ne les ai pas tous vérifiés, mais pour les enfants qui aiment l’histoire, c’est un endroit où ils peuvent apprendre tout en faisant l’expérience du site historique.

Je suis descendu jusqu’au fossé de l’autre côté de la tombe. L’eau s’est asséchée ici. Je pouvais clairement voir le cercle en forme de cercle frontal arrière. Je pouvais également voir la protubérance dans le cou de la connexion entre le cercle et le carré.

Beaucoup de figurines en argile

Si vous montez sur le pont d’observation, vous pouvez voir différentes formes d’images reconstituées en argile Haniwa. Je me demande si elles étaient à l’origine disposées pour protéger la tombe. Maintenant, je ne peux qu’imaginer ce que cela a dû être dans le passé, mais je pouvais sentir l’activité du grand roi qui a certainement existé il y a plus de 1 500 ans. (Fin)
