有栖山 清水寺

四天王寺の支院

新西国三十三所のシンプルな御朱印帳を購入しました。そこには33霊場の他に、客番として5寺院が加えられています。四天王寺の支院である有栖山 清水寺も客番になっています。四天王寺から歩いて行ける距離にあるそうなので、寄ってみることにしました。

大きな霊園を通って

道に迷いかけましたが、ようやく寺名を刻んだ石碑に到達。さらに進んでいきますと、広い霊園を抜けていく道だったようで、墓石の間をぬって歩きます。でも、どこからお寺の建物なのか、すごくわかりにくかったです。

霊園より一段下がった場所に建物があるので、そこまで降りると、果たしてお寺でありました。御本尊は十一面千手観世音菩薩様で、まずはお参りをさせていただきました。ここは西側に斜面となっていて、そこから大阪の下町が開けているのを見渡せます。

玉出の滝

境内には玉出の滝と呼ばれる一角があります。京都の清水寺の音羽の滝のような作りのものから水が落下してきます。四天王寺の金堂に祀られた御本尊の下にある青竜池から流れ出る、白石玉出の霊水が滝となったものだそうです。

現在でも、滝に打たれて行う、滝行場として多くの方がお参りにこられます。天王寺界隈は大阪の下町で、ゴチャゴチャしたイメージがあるのですが、ここは霊園ということもあって非常に静かで、落ち着いた場所でした。（完）

Arisuzan Kiyomizu Dera Temple

Branch temple of Shitennoji Temple

I bought a simple red seal book for the new 33 sacred sites in the western part of Japan. In addition to the 33 sacred sites, five temples are added as guest temples. Arisuzan Kiyomizu Temple, a branch temple of Shitennoji Temple, is also a guest temple. I heard that it was within walking distance from Shitennoji Temple, so I decided to drop by.

Through the big cemetery

I almost lost my way, but finally reached a stone monument with the name of the temple engraved on it. As I continued on, it seemed that the path led through a large cemetery, and I walked through the gravestones. But it was very difficult to tell where the temple building was.

There was a building at a lower level than the cemetery, so I went down there and found that it was indeed a temple. The main deity was the eleven-faced thousand-armed Kannon Bodhisattva, and I paid my respect to him first. There was a slope on the west side of the temple, from which I could see the whole downtown area of Osaka.

Tamade Waterfall

There is a section of the temple grounds called the Tamade Waterfall. The water falls from a structure similar to the Otowa Falls of Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto. It is said that the waterfall was created from the sacred water of Shiraishi Tamade that flows from Seiryu Pond under the Gohonzon enshrined in the Golden Hall of Shitennoji Temple.

Even today, many people come to visit the cemetery as a place to perform waterfall rituals. The Tennoji area has the image of a busy downtown area in Osaka, but this place was very quiet and serene because it was a cemetery. (End)

J’ai acheté un simple livre de sceaux rouges pour les 33 nouveaux sites sacrés de la partie occidentale du Japon. En plus des 33 sites sacrés, cinq temples sont ajoutés comme temples invités. Le temple Arisuzan Kiyomizu, une branche du temple Shitennoji, est également un temple invité. J’ai entendu dire qu’il se trouvait à quelques pas du temple Shitennoji, alors j’ai décidé de m’y rendre.

A travers le grand cimetière

J’ai failli me perdre, mais j’ai finalement atteint un monument de pierre sur lequel était gravé le nom du temple. En continuant, il m’a semblé que le chemin traversait un grand cimetière, et j’ai traversé les pierres tombales. Mais il était très difficile de dire où se trouvait le bâtiment du temple.

Il y avait un bâtiment à un niveau inférieur à celui du cimetière, j’y suis donc descendu et j’ai constaté qu’il s’agissait bien d’un temple. La divinité principale était le Bodhisattva Kannon à onze visages et mille bras, et je lui ai d’abord rendu hommage. Il y avait une pente sur le côté ouest du temple, d’où je pouvais voir tout le centre-ville d’Osaka.

Cascade de Tamade

Il y a une section du terrain du temple appelée la cascade de Tamade. L’eau tombe d’une structure similaire aux chutes d’Otowa du temple Kiyomizu à Kyoto. On dit que la cascade a été créée à partir de l’eau sacrée de Shiraishi Tamade qui coule de l’étang Seiryu sous le Gohonzon enchâssé dans le Hall d’or du temple Shitennoji.

Aujourd’hui encore, de nombreuses personnes viennent visiter le cimetière pour y effectuer des rituels de chute d’eau. Le quartier de Tennoji a l’image d’un centre-ville animé d’Osaka, mais cet endroit était très calme et serein car c’était un cimetière. (Fin)
