岸和田城に庭園がある
大阪の岸和田というと有名なだんじり祭りを思い浮かべる方も多いと思います。また、NHKの朝ドラでファッションデザイナーのコシノ一家をモデルにした「カーネーション」を覚えている方もいらっしゃるでしょう。本日は、岸和田のお城にある庭園の話です。
関西空港から南海電車で、なんばに向かう際、左手側に3層の天守閣の横を一瞬通り過ぎますが、それが岸和田城です。大阪に来る訪日客の多くは大阪城を訪問するか、少し足を延ばして姫路城を見学するので、わざわざ途中下車して岸和田城を訪れる人は少ないようです。
重森三玲さんが作庭した「八陣の庭」
ただ、ここにはお城の中に大きな枯山水の庭園があります。それも天守閣の真正面に広がっています。名前は「八陣の庭」で国指定名勝になっています。設計、作庭は重森三玲さん。お城の中ということで、諸葛孔明の八陣法をイメージして設計されたそうです。
現場で実際に見て欲しいのですが、真ん中に位置する巨石を集めた“大将”の周りに、石組が8つあり、それぞれ、天、地、竜、虎、風、雲、鳥、蛇の陣を表しています。石組なので、やはり見る方が想像力を発揮して、その形を見る必要があります。
天守から見よう！
ここでの鑑賞ポイントは、天守に上がって、真上から八陣の庭を見ることです。重森三玲さんの庭は、真上から見た構成まで計算されていると言われていますが、それを衛星写真ではなく、肉眼で確かめられるのが、ここの庭の特徴です。天守の上階も比較的すいていますので、戦国時代に思いを馳せながら、陣形について想像をめぐらすのも楽しいかもしれません。（完）

Kishiwada Castle (2) Japanese Garden
There is a garden at Kishiwada Castle.
When you think of Kishiwada, Osaka, you probably think of the famous Danjiri Festival. Some of you may also remember the NHK morning drama series “Carnation,” which was based on the fashion designer Koshino’s family. Today, I would like to talk about a garden in a castle in Kishiwada.
When you take the Nankai train from Kansai Airport to Namba, you will pass by the three-story castle tower on your left for a moment, and that is Kishiwada Castle. Most visitors to Osaka either visit Osaka Castle or go a little further to visit Himeji Castle, so it seems that few people bother to get off the train to visit Kishiwada Castle.
The Garden of ”Eight Formation” created by Mirei
However, there is a large dry landscape garden in the castle. It stretches right in front of the castle tower. It is called the “Garden of the Eight Jin (formation)” and is designated as a national scenic beauty. The garden was designed and created by Mirei Shigemori, based on the image of Zhuge Liang’s Eight-Fold Battle Plan, since it is located inside the castle.
There are eight stone formations around the “general,” which is a collection of huge stones in the middle, each representing the heaven, earth, dragon, tiger, wind, cloud, bird, and snake. Since they are stone formations, it is necessary to use one’s imagination to see the shapes.

The best way to appreciate the garden here is to go up to the castle tower and look at the eight-tiered garden from directly above. Mirei Shigemori’s garden is said to have been calculated down to the composition seen from above, and this garden is unique in that you can see it with the naked eye rather than through satellite photos. The upper floors of the castle tower are also relatively empty, so it may be fun to think about the Warring States period and imagine the formation of the castle. (End)

Il y a un jardin au château Kishiwada.
Lorsque vous pensez à Kishiwada, Osaka, vous pensez probablement au célèbre festival Danjiri. Certains d’entre vous se souviennent peut-être aussi de la série dramatique matinale de la NHK “Carnation”, qui était basée sur la famille de la créatrice de mode Koshino. Aujourd’hui, je voudrais vous parler d’un jardin dans un château de Kishiwada.
Lorsque vous prenez le train Nankai de l’aéroport du Kansai à Namba, vous passez un instant devant la tour du château de trois étages sur votre gauche, c’est le château de Kishiwada. La plupart des visiteurs d’Osaka se rendent au château d’Osaka ou vont un peu plus loin pour visiter le château de Himeji. Il semble donc que peu de gens prennent la peine de descendre du train pour visiter le château de Kishiwada.
Le jardin de “Eight Formation” créé par Mirei
Cependant, il y a un grand jardin paysager sec dans le château. Il s’étend juste en face de la tour du château. Il s’appelle le “Jardin des Huit Jin (formation)” et est désigné comme beauté scénique nationale. Le jardin a été conçu et créé par Mirei Shigemori, sur la base de l’image du plan de bataille octuple de Zhuge Liang, puisqu’il est situé à l’intérieur du château.
Il y a huit formations de pierres autour du “général”, qui est un ensemble d’énormes pierres au milieu, chacune représentant le ciel, la terre, le dragon, le tigre, le vent, le nuage, l’oiseau et le serpent. Comme il s’agit de formations en pierre, il faut faire appel à son imagination pour en voir les formes.

La meilleure façon d’apprécier le jardin ici est de monter à la tour du château et de regarder le jardin à huit niveaux depuis le haut. On dit que le jardin de Mirei Shigemori a été calculé jusqu’à la composition vue d’en haut, et ce jardin est unique en ce sens que vous pouvez le voir à l’œil nu plutôt que par des photos satellites. Les étages supérieurs de la tour du château sont également relativement vides, il peut donc être amusant de penser à la période des États combattants et d’imaginer la formation du château. (Fin)
