平等院鳳凰堂はどこから写真を撮るのがお勧めなのか。我々のプログラムの構成上、どうしても訪問時間が午後になります。そのため、西方浄土をイメージした平等院鳳凰堂をバックに写真を撮ろうとすると、午後は逆光になってしまいます。それと、鳳凰堂は横に長いので、一枚の写真では全体を入れるのが難しいです。

そこで、若干斜めから撮ろうと、池の端まで来ると、鳳凰堂がかなり遠くになってしまい、その姿が小さくなります。この池も、水が張っているときは水草が浮いていますが、工事で水を抜いているときもあり、なんとも興ざめな風景になることもあります。

御朱印をいただくコーナーから、少し先まで行くと、修学旅行生が団体写真を撮影している場所があります。彼らの撮影の後、その場所から平等院鳳凰堂を見ると、なんとも美しく池に反写しています。ここはベストポイントかもしれないと思い、訪問の旅に写真を撮っています。

一度、飛行機雲が青空に一直線に描かれた写真も撮ることができました。自分にとっては、一番気に入っている写真になりました。お連れする外国人の方々にも、この場所からの写真を撮影し、皆さんに概ね喜んでいただいています。

あと一点、できれば、訪問される方々に鳳凰堂と呼ばれる所以の姿を見せてあげたいので、鳳凰堂を上空から写した写真、あるいはグーグルの衛星写真も持参しています。鳳凰が両翼を広げているように見える姿を示すと、名前の意味を納得いただけると思います。ただし、いつも思うのですが、赤い色を見ていると、鳳凰よりもレッド・ロブスターの方が似ているように私には見えます。（完）

Byodoin Phoenix Hall (3)　 (Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture)

Where is the best place to take pictures of the Byodoin Phoenix Hall? Due to the structure of our program, we would inevitably visit the temple in the afternoon. Therefore, if you try to take pictures with the Byodoin Phoenix Hall, which represents the image of the Western Pure Land, backlit in the afternoon. Also, the Phoenix Hall is so wide that it is difficult to include the entire structure in a single photo.

So, when I came to the edge of the pond to take pictures from a slight angle, the phoenix hall became quite far away and its figure became small. When the pond is full of water, water plants are floating in the water, but there are times when the water is being drained due to construction, and the scenery can be quite unpleasant.

A little further on from the corner where you can get a red seal, there is a place where students on a school trip are taking group photos. After they took their pictures, I looked at the Byodoin Phoenix Hall from that spot and saw how beautifully it was reflected in the pond. I thought this might be the best point, so I took some pictures on my trip to visit.

Once, I was even able to take a picture of the airplane clouds drawing a straight line in the blue sky. It became my favorite photo of all time. I have also taken photos from this location for the foreigners I take with me, and they are generally pleased with the results.

One more thing, if possible, I would like to show the visitors the reason why the temple is called the Phoenix Hall, so I also bring photos of the Phoenix Hall from the sky, or satellite photos from Google. When I show them how the phoenix looks like it is spreading its wings, I think they will understand the meaning of the name. However, I always think that the red color looks more like a red lobster than a phoenix to me. (End)

Quel est le meilleur endroit pour prendre des photos du hall du phénix Byodoin ? En raison de la structure de notre programme, nous visiterons inévitablement le temple l’après-midi. Par conséquent, si vous essayez de prendre des photos du hall du phénix Byodoin, qui représente l’image de la Terre pure occidentale, vous risquez de vous retrouver en contre-jour l’après-midi. De plus, le Phoenix Hall est si large qu’il est difficile d’inclure la structure entière dans une seule photo.

Ainsi, lorsque je me suis approché du bord de l’étang pour prendre des photos sous un léger angle, le hall du phénix s’est éloigné et sa silhouette est devenue plus petite. Lorsque l’étang est plein d’eau, des plantes aquatiques flottent dans l’eau, mais il arrive que l’eau soit vidée en raison de travaux, et le paysage peut être assez désagréable.

Un peu plus loin du coin où vous pouvez obtenir un sceau rouge, il y a un endroit où des étudiants en voyage scolaire prennent des photos de groupe. Après qu’ils aient pris leurs photos, j’ai regardé le hall du phénix Byodoin depuis cet endroit et j’ai vu comme il se reflétait magnifiquement dans l’étang. Je me suis dit que c’était peut-être le meilleur endroit, alors j’ai pris quelques photos lors de ma visite.

Une fois, j’ai même réussi à prendre une photo des nuages d’avion dessinant une ligne droite dans le ciel bleu. C’est devenu ma photo préférée de tous les temps. J’ai également pris des photos de cet endroit pour les étrangers que j’emmène avec moi, et ils sont généralement satisfaits des résultats.

Une dernière chose : si possible, j’aimerais montrer aux visiteurs la raison pour laquelle le temple s’appelle le hall du phénix, alors j’apporte aussi des photos du hall du phénix vu du ciel, ou des photos satellites de Google. Lorsque je leur montre comment le phénix a l’air de déployer ses ailes, je pense qu’ils comprendront la signification du nom. Cependant, je pense toujours que la couleur rouge ressemble plus à un homard rouge qu’à un phénix. (Fin)
