沙羅双樹の花が咲く庭園
沙羅双樹の花の色、、、。平家物語の一節ですが、その沙羅双樹の花が咲くあるいは散る庭があります。妙心寺の塔頭寺院、東林院です。拝観できる期間が限定されていますので、その時に合わせて訪れる必要があります。
抹茶とお茶菓子
山門前の受付で拝観料を支払いますが、抹茶とお茶菓子付きでした。縁側で庭を眺めながらお茶を飲むのかと思いましたが、訪問客が多いため、まず、奥の方で自分の場所を確保して抹茶をいただくことにしました。
一日で散る儚さ
美味しくお茶を飲んだ後、いよいよ庭の拝観です。すでに散った沙羅双樹の花が地面に落ちています。お釈迦様が入滅されたときに周りにあったというインドの沙羅双樹と、ここで見る日本の沙羅双樹の花は種類が違うそうです。
日本の花は、朝に咲いて夕刻に散ってしまう一日花のイメージがあり、その儚いイメージが平家物語に一節に投影されています。咲き誇った花が散る儚さに美を見出す、日本の美学が目の前に広がっています。正面の庭だけでなく、建物の横の狭い路地にも沙羅双樹が植えられています。沙羅の木で作った数珠も置いてありました。
来た時よりも美しく
帰りに、カエルの置物がありました。陶板に「かえる時、来たときよりも美しく」と書いてあります。何やら、日本のサッカーチームのサポーターの様です。汚したら片づけましょう。でも、沙羅双樹の散った花は、しばらく地面に残して置いてください。（完）

Garden with flowering saran tree
The color of the flowers of the sarasouju tree,… There is a garden where the flowers of the sarasouju tree bloom and fall. The garden is located in Tōrin-in, the sub-temple of Myōshin-ji Temple. The period during which the garden can be viewed is limited, so I must visit accordingly.
Matcha green tea and tea sweets
I paid the entrance fee at the reception desk in front of the temple gate, which included matcha green tea and tea sweets. I thought I would be drinking tea while gazing at the garden on the porch, but due to the large number of visitors, I decided to first secure my own place in the back of the building to enjoy my matcha green tea.
The ephemeral nature of a single day’s dispersal
After a delicious cup of tea, it was time to view the garden. The already scattered flowers of the sara tree were falling to the ground. It is said that the Indian sarasow tree, which was around when the Buddha entered into heaven, and the Japanese sarasow tree seen there were of different types.
Japanese flowers have the image of one-day flowers that bloom in the morning and fall in the evening, and this fleeting image is projected in a passage in the Tale of the Heike. The Japanese aesthetic, which finds beauty in the transience of blooming flowers that fall, was spread out before me. Sara trees were planted not only in the front garden but also in the narrow alley beside the building. There were also prayer beads made from the sara tree.
More beautiful than when I came.
On my way home, I found a frog ornament. It said on a ceramic plate, “When you go home, you will be more beautiful than when you came.” It looked like a supporter of a Japanese soccer team. If you make it dirty, clean it up. But please leave the scattered flowers of the sara tree on the ground for a while. (END)

Jardin avec un saranier en fleurs
La couleur des fleurs de l’arbre sarasouju,… Il existe un jardin où les fleurs de l’arbre sarasouju fleurissent et tombent. Le jardin est situé à Tōrin-in, le sous-temple du temple Myōshin-ji. La période pendant laquelle on peut voir le jardin est limitée, je dois donc m’y rendre en conséquence.
Thé vert Matcha et bonbons au thé
J’ai payé le droit d’entrée à la réception devant la porte du temple, qui comprenait du thé vert matcha et des bonbons au thé. Je pensais boire du thé en regardant le jardin sur le porche, mais en raison du grand nombre de visiteurs, j’ai décidé de réserver ma place à l’arrière du bâtiment pour déguster mon thé vert matcha.
La nature éphémère de la dispersion d’un seul jour
Après une délicieuse tasse de thé, il était temps de visiter le jardin. Les fleurs déjà éparpillées de l’arbre sara tombaient au sol. On dit que le sarrasin indien, qui était présent lorsque le Bouddha est entré au paradis, et le sarrasin japonais que l’on voit ici sont de types différents.
Les fleurs japonaises ont l’image de fleurs d’un jour qui éclosent le matin et tombent le soir, et cette image fugace est projetée dans un passage du Conte du Heike. L’esthétique japonaise, qui trouve la beauté dans la fugacité des fleurs qui tombent, s’étalait devant moi. Des sarrasins étaient plantés non seulement dans le jardin de devant, mais aussi dans l’étroite allée à côté du bâtiment. Il y avait aussi des perles de prière faites à partir de l’arbre sara.
Plus belle que quand je suis venu.
En rentrant chez moi, j’ai trouvé une décoration en forme de grenouille. Elle disait sur une plaque de céramique : “Quand tu rentreras chez toi, tu seras plus belle que quand tu es venue.” On aurait dit un supporter d’une équipe de foot japonaise. Si vous le salissez, nettoyez-le. Mais s’il vous plaît, laissez les fleurs éparpillées de l’arbre sara sur le sol pendant un moment. (FIN)
