講義の合間に訪問
神戸での講義が2回入った日がありましたが、朝一番と夕方の２回だったため、間の時間を利用して加古川まで行き、そこから歩いて新西国霊場 27番の鶴林寺を訪問しました。仁王門の仁王さんを見た際に、その古さや姿から、ここはいいものを見られると期待できるお寺と感じました。
聖徳太子も来られたらしい
お寺に伝わっている話によると、高句麗の僧、恵便法師が、物部氏ら排仏派の迫害を逃れてこの地に身を隠していたので、聖徳太子が法師の教えを受けるため、この地に来られたそうです。そして、587年に秦川勝に命じて精舎を建立し、刀田山四天王寺聖霊院と名付けたのがはじまりです。
境内は広くて、沢山の堂宇が建っています。本堂、三重塔をはじめ、新薬師堂、観音堂、太子堂などなどです。最初に新薬師堂にて薬師如来様をお参りしました。ウィンクする仏像と呼ばれているらしいのですが、お参りした際は、両目を開いていました。
あたたの観音さま
国宝の本堂をお参りした後、新西国霊場観音めぐりですので、観音様にお参りしました。そして、いよいよ宝物館に入ります。ここには、「あいたたの観音さま」と呼ばれる、白鳳時代の優美な金銅聖観音立像があります。なぜ、「あいたた！」なのかと言いますと、昔、盗人がこの観音像を盗んで、溶かそうとした際、「あいたた！」という観音様の声に驚き、像を返して改心したという伝説によるそうです。
撮影禁止なので、観音様の写真はありませんが、顔もスタイルも優美な姿をしています。たまに、海外の展示会にも出張されるらしく、そこでも大変歓迎されるそうです。我々の願いを聞いていただけるだけでなく、国際親善にも活躍されていると聞いて、大変、ありがたいことだと感じました。ありがとうございます。（完）

Kakurinji Temple
Visiting between lectures
There was a day when I had two lectures in Kobe, one first thing in the morning and the other in the evening, so I took advantage of the time in between to go to Kakogawa and walk there to visit Kakurinji Temple, the 27th temple in the New Saigoku Sacred Sites. When I saw Niomon’s Niou-san, I knew from its antiquity and appearance that this was a temple where I could expect to see good things.
I heard that Prince Shotoku came here too.
According to the story passed down in the temple, Prince Shotoku came to this place to receive the teachings of Hoshi, a Koguryo priest, who had hidden himself in this area to escape persecution by the Mononobe clan and other Exclusionist Buddhist groups. Then, in 587, he ordered Hata Kawakatsu to build a Shoja and named it Toudasan Shitennoji Seiryoin.
The temple grounds are spacious, with many halls and buildings. There are many halls, including the main hall, the three-story pagoda, the new Yakushi Hall, the Kannon Hall, the Taishido Hall, and others. First, we visited the Yakushi Nyorai statue in the Shin-Yakushi Hall. I heard it is called a “winking Buddha image,” and when I visited it, both eyes were open.
Atatano-Kannon-sama (Goddess of Mercy)
After visiting the main hall, which is a national treasure, I paid a visit to the Kannon-sama, since this is the New Saigoku Sacred Sites Kannon Tour. Finally, we entered the Treasure House. Here, there is an elegant gilt bronze standing statue of the Holy Kannon from the Hakuho period, known as the “Atata no Kannon-sama. Why “Atata! is because, in the past, when thieves stole this statue of the Kannon and tried to melt it down, they were surprised by the voice of the Kannon saying “Atata! The legend says that when thieves stole the statue and tried to melt it down, they were surprised by the voice of the Kannon and returned it to the thief, who reformed himself.
Photography is not allowed, so there are no pictures of Kannon, but she has a graceful face and style. It is said that she sometimes travels to overseas exhibitions, where she is very welcome. Visiter entre deux conférences
Un jour, j’avais deux conférences à Kobe, l’une le matin et l’autre le soir. J’ai donc profité du temps entre les deux pour me rendre à Kakogawa et visiter à pied le temple Kakurinji, le 27e temple des nouveaux sites sacrés de Saigoku. Lorsque j’ai vu le Niou-san de Niomon, j’ai su, par son ancienneté et son apparence, que c’était un temple où je pouvais m’attendre à voir de bonnes choses.
J’ai entendu dire que le prince Shotoku était venu ici aussi.
Selon l’histoire transmise dans le temple, le prince Shotoku est venu ici pour recevoir les enseignements de Hoshi, un prêtre Koguryo, qui s’était caché dans cette région pour échapper aux persécutions du clan Mononobe et d’autres groupes bouddhistes exclusionnistes. Puis, en 587, il ordonna à Hata Kawakatsu de construire un Shoja et le nomma Toudasan Shitennoji Seiryoin.
Le terrain du temple est spacieux, avec de nombreux halls et bâtiments. Il y a de nombreux halls, dont le hall principal, la pagode à trois étages, le nouveau hall Yakushi, le hall Kannon, le hall Taishido, etc. Nous avons d’abord visité la statue de Yakushi Nyorai dans le hall Shin-Yakushi. J’ai entendu dire qu’on l’appelait “l’image du Bouddha qui cligne de l’œil”, et quand je l’ai visitée, les deux yeux étaient ouverts.

Après avoir visité le hall principal, qui est un trésor national, j’ai rendu visite à la Kannon-sama, puisqu’il s’agit du New Saigoku Sacred Sites Kannon Tour. Enfin, nous sommes entrés dans la maison du trésor. Ici, il y a une élégante statue debout en bronze doré de la Sainte Kannon de la période Hakuho, connue sous le nom de “Atata no Kannon-sama”. Pourquoi “Atata !”? Parce que, dans le passé, lorsque des voleurs ont volé cette statue de Kannon et ont essayé de la faire fondre, ils ont été surpris par la voix de Kannon disant “Atata ! La légende raconte que lorsque des voleurs ont volé la statue et ont essayé de la faire fondre, ils ont été surpris par la voix de Kannon et l’ont rendue au voleur, qui s’est réformé.
La photographie n’est pas autorisée, il n’y a donc pas de photos de Kannon, mais elle a un visage et un style gracieux. On dit qu’elle se rend parfois à des expositions à l’étranger, où elle est très bien accueillie. Nous sommes très reconnaissants d’apprendre qu’elle n’est pas seulement à l’écoute de nos souhaits, mais qu’elle joue également un rôle actif dans la bonne volonté internationale. Merci beaucoup.
