天性寺

岸和田周辺の観光スポット

大阪府南部の岸和田市で会議があり、少し早く出向いて気になるスポットを訪問してきました。その１つが天性寺です。南海電鉄の岸和田駅から１つ南に蛸地蔵駅というのがあり、そこが最寄駅になります。また、この蛸地蔵がお祀りされているのも天性寺であります。

寺門をくぐると、真正面に地蔵堂が聳え立っています。元亀元年（1570）に建立されたもので、地蔵堂としては日本最大級の建物だそうです。寺に伝わる縁起によれば、御本尊の地蔵菩薩様は、古くから岸和田の守本尊とされたていました。

数千の蛸がお城を守った

戦乱を免れるために、当時の領主が、地蔵菩薩を堀の中に入れさせました。時が経ち、天正年間に、根来・雑賀衆が岸和田城をせめて、落城の危機が迫った時、数千の蛸と1人の法師が現れて、お城を救ったという伝説があります。

後日、堀の中から矢傷や弾傷を負った地蔵菩薩が発見されました。当時の人々は、お城を救った法師は地蔵菩薩の化身であったと信じたのです。地蔵菩薩は城中の別殿に安置されましたが、民衆が参拝できるように天性寺に移されました。

蛸の絵馬と蛸を断食

蛸地蔵だけに、ここでは馬を描いた絵馬ではなく、蛸を描いた蛸絵馬を奉納し、蛸を食べることを断って、願掛けする人もいるそうです。御朱印の印を見ると、お地蔵様が蛸の頭の上に乗っています。最初、下のたこに築かず、お地蔵様の顔が蛸に見えていました。（完）

Tenshyo-ji Temple

I had a meeting in Kishiwada City in southern Osaka Prefecture and went out a little early to visit spots of interest. One of them is Tenshyoji Temple. The nearest station is Takojizo Station, one station south of Kishiwada Station on the Nankai Electric Railway line. The Takojizo is also enshrined at Tenshyoji Temple.

When you pass through the temple gate, the Jizo Hall rises directly in front of you. Built in 1570, it is said to be one of the largest Jizo halls in Japan. According to the temple’s legend, Jizo Bosatsu, the main deity of the temple, has long been regarded as the guardian deity of Kishiwada.

In order to escape warfare, the lord of the time had Jizo Bosatsu placed inside a moat. Legend has it that when the Negoro and Saika warriors were pressing Kishiwada Castle during the Tensho period and the castle was in danger of falling, thousands of octopi and a Buddhist priest appeared and saved the castle.

Later, a Jizo Bosatsu was found in the moat with arrow and bullet wounds. People at that time believed that the priest who saved the castle was an incarnation of Jizo Bosatsu. Jizo Bosatsu was enshrined in a separate hall in the castle, but was moved to Tenshyo-ji Temple so that the people could visit the temple.

Only at Tako Jizo, people here dedicate an octopus ema (votive tablet) depicting an octopus instead of a horse, and some people refuse to eat octopus and make a wish. If you look at the seal on the red seal, you will see that the Jizo is on top of the octopus’s head. At first, I did not notice the octopus underneath, and the Jizo’s face looked like an octopus. Temple Tenshyo-ji

J’avais une réunion dans la ville de Kishiwada, dans le sud de la préfecture d’Osaka, et je suis sorti un peu plus tôt pour visiter des sites d’intérêt. L’un d’eux est le temple Tenshyoji. La gare la plus proche est celle de Takojizo, une station au sud de la gare de Kishiwada sur la ligne du Nankai Electric Railway. Le Takojizo est également enchâssé dans le temple Tenshyoji.

Lorsque vous franchissez la porte du temple, la salle Jizo s’élève juste devant vous. Construit en 1570, il est considéré comme l’un des plus grands halls Jizo du Japon. Selon la légende du temple, Jizo Bosatsu, la divinité principale du temple, a longtemps été considérée comme la divinité tutélaire de Kishiwada.

Afin d’échapper aux guerres, le seigneur de l’époque fit placer Jizo Bosatsu à l’intérieur d’un fossé. La légende raconte que lorsque les guerriers Negoro et Saika pressaient le château de Kishiwada pendant la période Tensho et que le château risquait de tomber, des milliers de pieuvres et un prêtre bouddhiste apparurent et sauvèrent le château.

Plus tard, un Jizo Bosatsu a été retrouvé dans les douves avec des blessures de flèches et de balles. Les gens de l’époque pensaient que le prêtre qui avait sauvé le château était une incarnation de Jizo Bosatsu. Jizo Bosatsu était enchâssé dans une salle séparée du château, mais il a été déplacé au temple Tenshyo-ji pour que les gens puissent visiter le temple.

Seulement à Tako Jizo, les gens dédient ici un ema de poulpe (tablette votive) représentant un poulpe au lieu d’un cheval, et certaines personnes refusent de manger du poulpe et font un vœu. Si vous regardez le sceau rouge, vous verrez que le Jizo se trouve au sommet de la tête de la pieuvre. Au début, je n’ai pas remarqué la pieuvre en dessous, et le visage du Jizo ressemblait à une pieuvre. ( Fin )
