六道珍皇寺

ここは六道の辻

「六道」とは、教科書的に言うと、仏教の教義で、地獄道・餓鬼道・畜生道・阿修羅道・人道・天道の六種の冥界のことであり、人間は因果応報により、死後はこの六道を輪廻転生するという考え方。この六道の分岐点が、この世とあの世の境になる辻で、六道珍皇寺の境内にあるといわれてきました。

冥界への入口

よって、ここに冥界への入口があると信じられていたのでした。ここは、平安京のころ、東の墓所（鳥辺野）に行く際の道筋であったことも、あの世へ通じる場所を考えられた一因かもしれません。また、小野篁が毎夜、このお寺の本堂裏庭にある井戸から冥府通いをしていたという伝説も影響しているようです。

このお寺には、通訳案内士試験に合格し、大阪府に登録した後、ある通訳案内士団体の研修で来たのが最初でした。閻魔さんの像や冥府への入口の井戸を見たりしたことを記憶しています。少しオカルト的なディープな世界ですので、海外からの研修生を連れてきたことはありません。

平安時代は物の怪、法力、なんでも来い！

平安時代は物の怪、法力などの超自然現象がまじめに信じられていた時代ですから、像として、その姿を見ることができる閻魔さんは、ほぼ確実に存在する者として受け入れられていたのかも知れません。小野篁が毎夜ここに来ていたのであれば、一体何をしに来ていたのか知りたくなってきました。単に、寝に来ていただけかもしれません。

今回は御朱印をいただく際に本堂に上がり、薬師三尊像にお参りしてから帰りました。（完）

Rokudo chinnoji Temple

“Rokudo” is a textbook Buddhist doctrine that refers to the six underworlds of hell, hungry ghosts, animals, Asura, humanity, and heaven, and that humans reincarnate through these six paths after death due to cause and effect. It has been said that the junction of these six paths is the street that serves as the border between this world and the next, and is located within the precincts of Rokudo-Chinnoji Temple.

Therefore, it was believed that there was an entrance to the underworld here. The fact that this was the route to the eastern graveyard (Toribeno) during the Heian period (794-1185) may also have contributed to the belief in a place leading to the other world. It also seems to be influenced by the legend that Ono no Takamura used to commute to the underworld every night from the well in the backyard of the temple’s main hall.

I first came to this temple as part of a training program for an interpreter guide group after passing the interpreter guide exam and registering with the Osaka prefectural government. I remember seeing the statue of Enma and the entrance well to the underworld. I have never brought any trainees from overseas because the world is a bit occult and deep.

In the Heian period (794-1185), people seriously believed in supernatural phenomena such as the specter of things and the power of the Dharma, so Enma-san, who could be seen as a statue, may have been accepted as someone who almost certainly existed. If Ono no Takamura came here every night, I am curious to know what on earth he was doing here. He may have simply come to sleep.

This time, I went up to the main hall when I received a red seal and paid my respects to the statue of Yakushi Sanzon before leaving. (End)

Temple Rokudo chinnoji

“Rokudo” est une doctrine bouddhiste classique qui fait référence aux six mondes souterrains de l’enfer, des fantômes affamés, des animaux, des Asuras, de l’humanité et du ciel, et que les humains se réincarnent à travers ces six chemins après la mort en raison de la cause et de l’effet. Il a été dit que la jonction de ces six chemins est la rue qui sert de frontière entre ce monde et le suivant, et qu’elle se trouve dans l’enceinte du temple Rokudo-Chinnoji.

On croyait donc qu’il y avait ici une entrée pour le monde souterrain. Le fait qu’il s’agissait de la route menant au cimetière oriental (Toribeno) pendant la période Heian (794-1185) peut également avoir contribué à la croyance en un lieu menant à l’autre monde. Elle semble également influencée par la légende selon laquelle Ono no Takamura se rendait chaque nuit aux enfers depuis le puits situé dans l’arrière-cour de la salle principale du temple.

Je suis venu pour la première fois dans ce temple dans le cadre d’un programme de formation pour un groupe de guides interprètes, après avoir réussi l’examen de guide interprète et m’être inscrit auprès du gouvernement préfectoral d’Osaka. Je me souviens avoir vu la statue d’Enma et le puits d’entrée des enfers. Je n’ai jamais fait venir de stagiaires de l’étranger car le monde est un peu occulte et profond.

À l’époque Heian (794-1185), les gens croyaient sérieusement aux phénomènes surnaturels tels que le spectre des choses et le pouvoir du Dharma, donc Enma-san, qui pouvait être vu comme une statue, a pu être accepté comme quelqu’un qui a presque certainement existé. Si Ono no Takamura venait ici tous les soirs, je suis curieux de savoir ce qu’il pouvait bien faire ici. Il est peut-être venu simplement pour dormir.

Cette fois, je suis monté dans le hall principal lorsque j’ai reçu un sceau rouge et j’ai présenté mes respects à la statue de Yakushi Sanzon avant de partir. (Fin)
