帯解寺

子授けのお寺

西国三十三所巡りを終え、また、新西国三十三所巡り残すは兵庫県の西部のみとなり、最近は出張に出る際に、出張先の近くに訪ねるべき名刹はないかと、神仏霊場会の公式ガイドブックを調べています。そこで、見つけたのがこの帯解寺です。

奈良県に出張がありJR桜井線を利用することになりました。所用を済ませすぐに大阪に戻るのはもったいないので、奈良駅方面の電車に乗り帯解駅で下りました。駅からは歩いて5分ほどで山門が見えてきます。

このお寺は帯解地蔵さんと呼ばれて親しまれています。東大寺を本山とする華厳宗の寺院であります。皇室との関係も深く、文徳天皇の皇后が子宝に恵まれなかった時、この地蔵菩薩に祈願したところ懐妊し、後の清和天皇を出産されたそうです。

徳川家とも縁がありました

また、江戸時代には三代将軍徳川家光もこのお寺に祈願して、後の四代将軍家綱を授かっているそうです。子授けの霊験は全国に有名になり、子安地蔵として子宝を望む人びとが参詣に訪れるようになりました。

今も、皇族方に岩田帯を献上しているそうです。訪れた際は夕暮れ時で、小さな境内はご近所さんとおぼしき方が数名談笑されていました。ガイドブックに掲載されていなかったら、来ることもなかったと思うのですが、何かご縁があったのかも知れません。お参りを済ませて大阪に戻りました。（完）

Obitoke Temple

Having completed the pilgrimage to the 33 temples of the Saigoku Sanjusankyo, and with only the western part of Hyogo Prefecture remaining in the New Saigoku Sanjusankyo Tour, I have recently been checking the official guidebook of the Shinbutsu Reijokai to see if there are any famous temples to visit near my business trip destination. I found this Obikai-ji temple.

I had a business trip to Nara Prefecture and decided to use the JR Sakurai Line. It would be a waste to return to Osaka immediately after finishing my business, so I took a train in the direction of Nara Station and got off at Obitokedera Station. From the station, it was a five-minute walk to the temple gate.

This temple is popularly known as Obitoke Jizo-san. It is a temple of the Kegon sect with Todaiji Temple as its head temple. The temple has a close relationship with the imperial family. When Emperor Montoku’s empress was unable to bear a child, she prayed to Jizo Bosatsu and became pregnant, giving birth to the future Emperor Seiwa.

In the Edo period (1603-1867), the third shogun Tokugawa Iemitsu also prayed at this temple, and later gave birth to the fourth shogun, Ietsuna. The temple became famous throughout Japan for its miracle of giving birth to a child, and people who wished to have a child came to pay homage to the temple as Koyasu Jizo (a guardian deity of children).

Even today, the temple is said to offer Iwata obi to the royal family. When I visited, it was dusk and there were several neighbors chatting in the small precincts of the temple. I don’t think I would have come here if I hadn’t seen it in the guidebook, but perhaps there was a connection. After paying my respects, I returned to Osaka. (End)

Temple Obitoke

Après avoir effectué le pèlerinage vers les 33 temples du Saigoku Sanjusankyo, et alors qu’il ne reste plus que la partie occidentale de la préfecture de Hyogo dans le circuit du New Saigoku Sanjusankyo, j’ai récemment consulté le guide officiel du Shinbutsu Reijokai pour voir s’il y avait des temples célèbres à visiter près de la destination de mon voyage d’affaires. J’ai trouvé ce temple Obikai-ji.

J’avais un voyage d’affaires dans la préfecture de Nara et j’ai décidé d’utiliser la ligne JR Sakurai. Ce serait un gaspillage de retourner à Osaka immédiatement après avoir terminé mon voyage d’affaires. J’ai donc pris un train en direction de la gare de Nara et je suis descendu à la gare d’Obitokedera. De la gare, il y avait cinq minutes de marche jusqu’à la porte du temple.

Ce temple est connu sous le nom d’Obitoke Jizo-san. C’est un temple de la secte Kegon avec le temple Todaiji comme temple principal. Le temple a une relation étroite avec la famille impériale. Lorsque l’impératrice de l’empereur Montoku ne pouvait pas avoir d’enfant, elle a prié Jizo Bosatsu et est tombée enceinte, donnant naissance au futur empereur Seiwa.

À l’époque d’Edo (1603-1867), le troisième shogun Tokugawa Iemitsu a également prié dans ce temple et a donné naissance au quatrième shogun, Ietsuna. Le temple est devenu célèbre dans tout le Japon pour le miracle de la naissance d’un enfant, et les personnes qui souhaitaient avoir un enfant venaient rendre hommage au temple en tant que Koyasu Jizo (divinité tutélaire des enfants).

Aujourd’hui encore, on dit que le temple offre l’Iwata obi à la famille royale. Lors de ma visite, c’était le crépuscule et il y avait plusieurs voisins qui discutaient dans la petite enceinte du temple. Je ne pense pas que je serais venu ici si je ne l’avais pas vu dans le guide, mais il y avait peut-être un lien. Après avoir présenté mes respects, je suis retourné à Osaka. (Fin)
