雁行形に連なる建物
回遊コースも後半になりました。目の前に古書院、中書院などが、雁行形に連なって並んでいます。一番左の新御殿は、智忠親王が後水尾上皇をお迎えするために増築された建物です。書院の前までは飛び石が続いています。
桂離宮で月を愛でる
この桂の地は、古くから月を愛でる名所です。古書院には月を鑑賞するための月見台が付けられており、池に向かって突き出すように作られています。ここからは中秋の名月を一晩中楽しめるそうです。空に浮かぶ月と、池に反射する月の光を同時に愛でるのは、最高の贅沢に違いありません。
古書院近くの池辺に茶亭、月破楼が立っています。こちらも月を見るのに良い位置にあるので、池に近い分、池に映った月を存分に堪能できそうです。できれば、夜に来たかったと思ったのは私だけではないでしょう。
モダンアート的なデザインの真の延段
そろそろ最終ゴールに近づいて来ました。御輿寄に続く延段を見ると、切石がすき間なく埋め込まれています。真行草の真、まさしく最も格式高く高貴な方をお迎えするデザインなのでしょう。なにやらモダンアートのようにも見えてきます。
見学中も雨は降り続けましたが、400年前の人々が情熱をこめて作った庭が、現在までほぼそのままの形で受け継がれてことに驚くとともに、今も整備を続けている方々に感謝申しあげます。案内してくれた宮内庁の方は、ゆったりとした口調でお話いただき、優雅な雰囲気を演出されていました。（つづく）

Katsura Rikyu ③ from Koshoin to Chumon Gate (English)
A row of buildings in the shape of a goose
I was in the second half of our tour. In front of me, I saw the Koshoin and Chushoin buildings lined up in a wild goose chase pattern. The new palace on the far left was added by Prince Tomotada to welcome retired Emperor Gomizuno. There were stepping stones leading up to the Shoin.
Admiring the Moon at Katsura Rikyu
This place in Katsura has long been a famous place to admire the moon. A moon-viewing platform for viewing the moon was attached to the old Shoin, and it is built so that it juts out toward the pond. From there, you can enjoy the mid-autumn moon all night long. Admiring the moon in the sky and the moonlight reflected in the pond at the same time must be the most luxurious experience.
A teahouse, Gepparo, stands by the pond near Old Shoin Building. This is also a good position to view the moon, and the closer you are to the pond, the more you will be able to fully enjoy the moon reflected in the pond. I was sure I was not the only one who wanted to come here at night, if possible.
Formal style extended steps of modern artistic design.
I was approaching the final goal. If you look at the extended steps leading to the portable shrine, you will see hewn stones embedded without any gaps. That was Shin style (Formal Style) of the word “Shin(Formal)-Gyo(SemiFormal)-Sou(Casual),” which means that it is designed to welcome the most prestigious and noble of people. It looked like a modern art.
Although it continued to rain during the tour, I was amazed at the fact that the garden, which was created with passion by people 400 years ago, has been passed down to the present almost in its original form, and thanked the people who continue to maintain it. The person from the Imperial Household Agency who showed us around spoke in a relaxed tone, creating an elegant atmosphere. (To be continued)
Katsura Rikyu ③ de Koshoin à la porte de Chumon (Français)
Une rangée de bâtiments en forme d’oie
J’étais dans la seconde moitié de notre visite. Devant moi, j’ai vu les bâtiments Koshoin et Chushoin alignés selon un motif en forme d’oie sauvage. Le nouveau palais à l’extrême gauche a été ajouté par le prince Tomotada pour accueillir l’empereur retraité Gomizuno. Il y avait des tremplins menant au Shoin.
Admirer la lune à Katsura Rikyu
Cet endroit à Katsura est depuis longtemps un lieu célèbre pour admirer la lune. Une plateforme d’observation de la lune a été fixée à l’ancien Shoin, et elle est construite de manière à s’avancer vers l’étang. De là, vous pouvez admirer la lune de la mi-automne toute la nuit. Admirer la lune dans le ciel et le reflet de la lune dans l’étang en même temps doit être une expérience des plus luxueuses.
Un salon de thé, Gepparo, se trouve près de l’étang, à proximité du bâtiment Old Shoin. C’est également une bonne position pour observer la lune, et plus vous êtes proche de l’étang, plus vous pourrez profiter pleinement de la lune se reflétant dans l’étang. Je suis sûr que je ne suis pas le seul à vouloir venir ici la nuit, si possible.
Le style formel prolonge les étapes du design artistique moderne.
Je m’approchais du but final. Si vous regardez les marches prolongées menant au sanctuaire portable, vous verrez des pierres taillées encastrées sans aucun vide. C’était le style Shin (style formel) du mot “Shin(formel)-Gyo(semi-formel)-Sou(décontracté)”, ce qui signifie qu’il est conçu pour accueillir les personnes les plus prestigieuses et les plus nobles. Cela ressemblait à de l’art moderne.
Bien qu’il ait continué à pleuvoir pendant la visite, j’ai été émerveillé par le fait que le jardin, créé avec passion par des personnes il y a 400 ans, a été transmis jusqu’à aujourd’hui presque dans sa forme originale, et j’ai remercié les personnes qui continuent à l’entretenir. La personne de l’Agence de la maison impériale qui nous a fait visiter le jardin a parlé d’un ton détendu, créant une atmosphère élégante. (A suivre)
