髙森玲子、熊野古道女子部 編著「熊野古道 巡礼の旅」説話社
熊野古道を歩いてみようと思い、参考になる本を探している時に出会った本です。写真も豊富で読みやすい内容です。マップは概略で、紹介されているスポットも、それほど細かくはありませんが、主要なポイントは押さえていると思います。
中辺路を全て歩いていこうという人には、別の詳細なマップを持っていた方が無難ですが、車を使って旅する方や、古道の一部のみ歩こうとされる方には、本書で十分だと思います。女性の目線で書かれているので、食事やお土産についても丁寧な記載になっています。
私もこの本で紹介されていた熊野本宮大社の八咫烏のおみくじを、金色、黒色ともに買いまして、今も自宅の本棚に飾っています。事前に調べていなかったら、おそらく見つけることもなかったと思います。
相川七瀬さんのコラムも載っています。彼女も熊野に魅せられた方のようです。その他、お薦めスポットとして、グルメやデザートなどを紹介してくれているのはありがたいです。地方の街に行くと、たまたま見つけた店に行くのもいいのですが、事前に目星をつけておけば、すんなり食事にありつけます。
あと、スタンプラリーについて解説してくれています。スペインのサンティアゴ巡礼道と熊野古道の「共通巡礼手帳」に双方のスタンプを押しもらう企画です。この本で知って、熊野古道へ出発する前に、和歌山県田辺市に連絡すると、早速送付してくれました。いくつかのチェックポイントがあり、既定のポイントでスタンプを押印すると、巡礼走破を認定してくれます。私は、中辺路の発心門王子から熊野本宮大社までのスタンプと、大斎原、熊野速玉大社、熊野那智大社のスタンプを集めて走破しました。他にも複数の走破ルートがあるので、興味のある方はご確認ください。
念のためですが、ご自身でスタンプ用の赤色のインク台を持参することをお勧めします。時々、乾燥しかけたスタンプ台があり、薄くしか押印できないこともありました。念には念を入れてご出発ください。（完）

Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage

I came across this book when I was looking for a book to refer to when I decided to walk the Kumano Kodo. The book is easy to read with plenty of photos. The map is an outline, and the spots introduced are not very detailed, but I think it covers the main points.
If you are planning to walk all of Nakahechi, it would be safer to have another detailed map, but if you are traveling by car or trying to walk only part of the ancient road, I think this book will be sufficient. The book is written from a woman’s point of view, so the descriptions of food and souvenirs are also very detailed.
I also bought the Yatagarasu fortunes of Kumano Hongu Taisha Shrine, both in gold and black, which were introduced in this book, and they are still displayed on my bookshelf at home. If I hadn’t done my research beforehand, I probably wouldn’t have found it.
It also has a column by Nanase Aikawa. She seems to be a person who is also fascinated by Kumano. In addition, I appreciate that the magazine introduces gourmet food and desserts as recommended spots. When you visit a local town, it is good to go to a restaurant you happen to find, but if you have an idea of where to go beforehand, you can easily get a meal.
Also, the book explains about the stamp rally. It is a plan to have both the pilgrimage routes of Santiago in Spain and Kumano Kodo stamped in a “common pilgrimage notebook”. I found out about it from this book and contacted Tanabe City in Wakayama Prefecture before I left for the Kumano Kodo, and they sent it to me as soon as possible. There are several checkpoints, and if you get a stamp at a certain point, they will certify that you have completed the pilgrimage. I completed the pilgrimage by collecting stamps from Hasshinmon Oji to Kumano Hongu Taisha Shrine in Nakahechi, as well as stamps from Oyunohara, Kumano Hayatama Taisha Shrine, and Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine. There are several other routes to walk, if you are interested.
As a precaution, I recommend that you bring your own red ink pad for stamping. Sometimes there were stamp pads that were almost dry and only a thin layer of ink could be stamped. Please be careful before you leave. (End)
Pèlerinage de Kumano Kodo

Je suis tombé sur ce livre alors que je cherchais un ouvrage auquel me référer lorsque j’ai décidé de parcourir le Kumano Kodo. Le livre est facile à lire, avec de nombreuses photos. La carte est une esquisse, et les endroits présentés ne sont pas très détaillés, mais je pense que cela couvre les points principaux.
Si vous prévoyez de parcourir tout Nakahechi à pied, il serait plus sûr d’avoir une autre carte détaillée, mais si vous voyagez en voiture ou si vous essayez de ne parcourir qu’une partie de l’ancienne route, je pense que ce livre sera suffisant. Le livre est écrit du point de vue d’une femme, donc les descriptions de la nourriture et des souvenirs sont également très détaillées.
J’ai également acheté les fortunes Yatagarasu du sanctuaire Kumano Hongu Taisha, en or et en noir, qui étaient présentées dans ce livre, et elles sont toujours exposées sur mon étagère à la maison. Si je n’avais pas fait mes recherches au préalable, je ne l’aurais probablement pas trouvé.
Il y a également une chronique de Nanase Aikawa. Elle semble être une personne qui est également fascinée par Kumano. En outre, j’apprécie que le magazine présente des plats et des desserts gastronomiques comme des endroits recommandés. Lorsque vous visitez une ville locale, il est bon d’aller dans un restaurant que vous trouvez par hasard, mais si vous avez une idée de l’endroit où aller à l’avance, vous pouvez facilement vous procurer un repas.
Le livre explique également le rallye des timbres. Il s’agit d’un projet visant à faire tamponner les deux chemins de pèlerinage de Santiago en Espagne et du Kumano Kodo dans un “carnet de pèlerinage commun”. Je l’ai découvert grâce à ce livre et j’ai contacté la ville de Tanabe dans la préfecture de Wakayama avant de partir pour le Kumano Kodo, et ils me l’ont envoyé dès que possible. Il y a plusieurs points de contrôle, et si vous obtenez un tampon à un certain point, ils certifient que vous avez accompli le pèlerinage. J’ai accompli le pèlerinage en collectant des timbres de Hasshinmon Oji au sanctuaire Kumano Hongu Taisha à Nakahechi, ainsi que des timbres à Oyunohara, au sanctuaire Kumano Hayatama Taisha et au sanctuaire Kumano Nachi Taisha. Il existe plusieurs autres itinéraires à parcourir, si vous êtes intéressé.
Par précaution, je vous recommande d’apporter votre propre tampon encreur rouge pour tamponner. Parfois, certains tampons encreurs étaient presque secs et seule une fine couche d’encre pouvait être tamponnée. Soyez prudent avant de partir. (Fin)
