織田信長を祀った神社

織田信長を祀った神社ってご存知でしょうか。徳川家康を祀った東照宮は全国各地にあります。豊臣秀吉を祀った豊国神社も、京都と大阪にあります。でも、織田信長を祀った神社の名前と場所を知る人は案外、少ないと思います。

実は、この健勲神社は織田信長を祀っています。創建は明治になってからで、京都の船岡山に建てられました。当初は山麓に社殿がありましたが、現在は山頂に社殿が移っています。山麓の旧本殿前にも狛犬が2匹座っています。

人間50年

船岡山の石段を上がって山頂の平らな境内に入っていくところに、「敦盛」の歌碑が建っています。「人間50年」で始まるこの歌を、信長は好んで唄い、舞ったそうですが、49歳で無念の最後を遂げた信長の生涯にピッタリの歌と思えます。

今回、健君神社に来たのは、もちろん信長公へのお参りもありますが、この神社が発行している「天下布武」をデザインした御朱印帳を購入するためでもありました。黒地の表紙に金色で刻印したデザインを見て、どうしても欲しくなりました。今まで、金閣寺、銀閣寺、伏見稲荷で、比較的地味なデザインの御朱印帳を購入していましたが、ここだけは、信長らしいデザインのものを買い求めました。

翌週に、比叡山の東塔、西塔、横川を巡りましたが、さすがに天下布武デザインの御朱印帳を出すのは遠慮して、別の御朱印帳に記帳していただきました。和歌山でも、一部地域で信長はいまだに恨まれているようなので、熊野古道を巡った時も、別の御朱印帳を持って巡礼をしました。（完）

Kenkun Shrine

Have you ever heard of a shrine dedicated to Nobunaga Oda? Toshogu shrines enshrining Ieyasu Tokugawa are located throughout Japan. Toyokuni Shrine, which enshrines Hideyoshi Toyotomi, is also located in Kyoto and Osaka. However, surprisingly few people know the name and location of the shrine dedicated to Oda Nobunaga.

In fact, the Kenkun Shrine is dedicated to Oda Nobunaga. It was founded in the Meiji era (1868-1912) and was built in Funaokayama, Kyoto. The shrine was originally located at the foot of the mountain, but has now been moved to the top of the mountain. Two guardian dogs also sit in front of the old main shrine at the foot of the mountain.

A monument to the poem “Atsumori” stands at the place where visitors enter the flat precincts at the top of the mountain after climbing the stone steps to the top of the Funaoka-yama. It is said that Nobunaga loved to sing and dance to this song, which begins with the words “50 years of mankind.” It seems to be a fitting song for the life of Nobunaga, who regretfully ended his life at the age of 49.

I came to Kenkun Shrine not only to pay my respects to Nobunaga, but also to purchase a red seal book with a “Tenka Fubu” design published by the shrine. When I saw the design on the black cover engraved in gold, I had to have it. Up to now, I had purchased red seal books with relatively plain designs at Kinkakuji, Ginkakuji, and Fushimi Inari, but only here did I purchase one with a Nobunaga-like design.

The following week, I visited the East Pagoda, West Pagoda, and Yokogawa of Hieizan, but as expected, I refrained from taking out the red seal book with the Tenka Fubu design and had the book written in a different red seal book. In Wakayama, Nobunaga still seems to be resented in some areas, so I took out a different red seal book when I toured the Kumano Kodo pilgrimage. (End)

Sanctuaire Kenkun

Avez-vous déjà entendu parler d’un sanctuaire dédié à Nobunaga Oda ? Des sanctuaires Toshogu consacrant Ieyasu Tokugawa sont situés dans tout le Japon. Le sanctuaire Toyokuni, qui rend hommage à Hideyoshi Toyotomi, est également situé à Kyoto et à Osaka. Cependant, étonnamment peu de gens connaissent le nom et l’emplacement du sanctuaire dédié à Oda Nobunaga.

En fait, le sanctuaire Kenkun est dédié à Oda Nobunaga. Il a été fondé à l’ère Meiji (1868-1912) et a été construit à Funaokayama, Kyoto. Le sanctuaire était à l’origine situé au pied de la montagne, mais il a été déplacé au sommet de la montagne. Lorsque j’ai vu le motif gravé en or sur la couverture noire, je me suis empressé de l’acheter. Jusqu’à présent, j’avais acheté des livres de sceaux rouges aux motifs relativement simples à Kinkakuji, Ginkakuji et Fushimi Inari, mais ce n’est qu’ici que j’en ai acheté un avec un motif semblable à celui de Nobunaga.

La semaine suivante, j’ai visité la Pagode Est, la Pagode Ouest et le Yokogawa de Hieizan, mais comme prévu, je me suis abstenu de sortir le livre de sceaux rouges au motif Tenka Fubu et je l’ai fait écrire dans un autre livre de sceaux rouges. À Wakayama, Nobunaga semble encore être mal vu dans certaines régions, j’ai donc sorti un autre livre à sceau rouge lorsque j’ai visité le pèlerinage de Kumano Kodo. (Fin)
