伏見稲荷大社には、狛犬ではなくて、キツネの像にたくさん出会います。どんなキツネがいるのか興味があったので、出会ったキツネ象を写真に撮っていました。比較的あたらしくて形がハッキリわかる像、ふるくてやや形がぼやけている像など、いろいろあります。さすがに、第一鳥居の前、楼門の前、本殿の前に座っているキツネ象は、堂々とした形をしています。
口にくわえているものも、それぞれのキツネ象によって異なります。みなさんが、一番最初に思いつくのは、稲ですよね。金色に塗った稲を加えている像に出会いますよ。それと、大きな鍵を加えた像もあります。豊富に納められた米蔵の鍵でしょうか。また、幸運を呼ぶ玉を加えたキツネ象も、参拝者を出迎えてくれます。納めたお宝を記しているのかもしれない巻物を加えたキツネ象もいます。もちろん、何もくわえていないキツネ象もありますよ。
少し歴史を感じさせるキツネ象は、風雪に耐えてきたのでしょうか、石自体が削れて丸みを帯びて、色も黒っぽくなっています。これはこれで、趣があって、いい表情をしています。さあ、奥社を越えて、もっと奥に行くと、おどけた感じのキツネ像にも出会うことができます。この像があるところまで、行ってみてください。
キツネ像が多い伏見稲荷大社ですが、狛犬さんもいますよ。私が写真に撮影したのは、次の２体です 。他にもいるかも知れませんが、そこは、皆さんで探してみてください。（完）

Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine (5) Statues of foxes (Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture)
At Fushimi Inari Taisha, you will encounter many statues of foxes, not komainu (guardian dogs). I was curious to see what kind of foxes there were, so I took pictures of the fox statues I encountered. There are a variety of statues, some relatively new and clearly recognizable, others old and somewhat blurred in shape. As one would expect, the fox statues sitting in front of the first torii gate, in front of the tower gate, and in front of the main shrine building are all of a stately shape.
What they hold in their mouths also differs from one fox statue to another. The first thing that comes to mind is rice. You will find some statues with gold-painted rice. And there is also a statue with a large key added. Is it the key to a richly stored rice warehouse? A fox statue with a lucky jade added also welcomes visitors. There is also a fox statue with a scroll, which may be a record of the treasures that were delivered to the shrine. Of course, there is also a fox statue with nothing in its mouth.
The stone of the fox statue looks a little historical, and has probably withstood the wind and snow. The stone itself has become rounded and darker in color, but it still has a quaint and pleasing expression. Now, if you go further beyond the Okusha Shrine, you will come across a frightening-looking fox statue. Go to the place where this statue is located.
There are many fox statues in Fushimi Inari Taisha, but there are also komainu (guardian dogs). I took pictures of the following two komainu. There may be others, but you will have to find them yourself. (End)
Sanctuaire Fushimi Inari-taisha (5) Statues de renards (ville de Kyoto, préfecture de Kyoto)
À Fushimi Inari Taisha, vous rencontrerez de nombreuses statues de renards, et non de komainu (chiens gardiens). J’étais curieux de voir quelle sorte de renards il y avait, alors j’ai pris des photos des statues de renards que j’ai rencontrées. Il y a une variété de statues, certaines relativement récentes et clairement reconnaissables, d’autres anciennes et aux formes un peu floues. Comme on peut s’y attendre, les statues de renard situées devant la première porte du torii, devant la porte de la tour et devant le bâtiment principal du sanctuaire ont toutes une forme imposante.
Ce qu’elles tiennent dans leur bouche diffère également d’une statue de renard à l’autre. La première chose qui vient à l’esprit est le riz. Vous trouverez certaines statues avec du riz peint en or. Et il y a aussi une statue à laquelle on a ajouté une grande clé. S’agit-il de la clé d’un entrepôt de riz richement stocké ? Une statue de renard avec un jade porte-bonheur accueille également les visiteurs. Il y a aussi une statue de renard avec un parchemin, qui pourrait être un registre des trésors qui ont été livrés au sanctuaire. Bien sûr, il y a aussi une statue de renard qui n’a rien dans la bouche.
La pierre de la statue de renard a l’air un peu ancienne, et a probablement résisté au vent et à la neige. La pierre elle-même s’est arrondie et a pris une couleur plus foncée, mais elle a toujours une expression pittoresque et agréable. Maintenant, si vous allez plus loin que le sanctuaire Okusha, vous rencontrerez une statue de renard à l’aspect effrayant. Allez à l’endroit où se trouve cette statue.
