JRとタクシーでGo!
西国霊場には鉄道の駅からアクセスしにくいお寺がいくつもありますが、ここもその一つです。神戸で早朝と夕刻の講義が入り、その間の時間を利用して行きましたが、JR加古川駅からタクシーで30分近くかかりました。
正式名称は、法華山 一乗寺（天台宗別格本山）で第26番の札所です。お寺に入ると本堂までまっすぐの階段が伸びています。途中、常行堂と国宝の三重塔を左手にみながら本堂を目指します。秋に行きましたので紅葉した木々も散見されました。
国宝の三重塔
三重塔のところから本堂を見上げると、青空の下に立派なお堂が姿をあらわしました。もう一踏ん張り階段を登り切って本堂に到着。そこから先ほど登ってきた階段を見下ろすと、国宝の三重塔が美しい景色の中に溶け込んでいます。
御本尊の聖観世音菩薩像は秘仏なので拝見はかないませんでした。お参りしたあと、本堂内は撮影禁止ですが、本堂の縁側を回って撮影してみます。一部だけですが、写真を見ると、その時感じた重厚感を思い出します。
賽の河原
ここの奥の院には「賽の河原」があり、そこまで行ってみました。亡くなった子供たちが石を積んで塔をつくるのを大鬼が壊してしまうところを、地蔵菩薩が救ってくださるとのお話があります。午後の講義で使おうと、落ち葉の紅葉を何枚かいただいて帰りました。（完）

Go by JR and cab!
There are a number of temples in the Saigoku Sacred Sites that are difficult to access from the train station, and this is one of them. I took advantage of the time between my early morning and evening lectures in Kobe to go there, but it took almost 30 minutes by cab from JR Kakogawa Station.
The official name of the temple is Hokkesan Ichijoji Temple (a special head temple of the Tendai sect), and it is the 26th temple. As I entered the temple, I saw a straight staircase leading up to the main hall. On the way, I could see the Jogyodo Hall and the three-story pagoda, a national treasure, on my left as I made my way to the main hall. I went there in autumn, so there were some trees with red leaves.

Looking up at the main hall from the three-story pagoda, a magnificent hall appeared under the blue sky. I climbed up the stairs one more time to reach the main hall. Looking down at the stairs I had just climbed, the three-story pagoda, a national treasure, blended in with the beautiful scenery.
I was not able to see the main statue of the Holy Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva because it was a secret Buddha. After paying my respects, I went around the edge of the main hall to take some pictures, although photography was not allowed inside the main hall. It was only part of the picture, but it reminded me of the sense of dignity I had felt at that time.
The Children’s Limbo
There was a “riverbank of Sai” in the inner sanctuary here, and I went there. There was a story that Jizo Bodhisattva saved the dead children who were piling up stones to build a pagoda when a big demon destroyed it. I picked up some fallen autumn leaves to use in my afternoon lecture. (End)

Il y a un certain nombre de temples dans les sites sacrés de Saigoku qui sont difficiles d’accès depuis la gare, et celui-ci en fait partie. J’ai profité du temps entre mes cours du matin et du soir à Kobe pour m’y rendre, mais il m’a fallu près de 30 minutes en taxi depuis la gare JR de Kakogawa.
Le nom officiel du temple est le temple Hokkesan Ichijoji (un temple principal spécial de la secte Tendai), et c’est le 26e temple. En entrant dans le temple, j’ai vu un escalier droit menant au hall principal. Sur le chemin, j’ai pu voir la salle Jogyodo et la pagode à trois étages, un trésor national, sur ma gauche alors que je me dirigeais vers le hall principal. J’y suis allé en automne, alors il y avait des arbres avec des feuilles rouges.

En regardant le hall principal depuis la pagode à trois étages, un hall magnifique est apparu sous le ciel bleu. J’ai grimpé les escaliers une fois de plus pour atteindre le hall principal. En regardant les escaliers que je venais de gravir, la pagode à trois étages, un trésor national, se fondait dans le paysage magnifique.
Je n’ai pas pu voir la statue principale du saint bodhisattva Avalokitesvara car c’était un bouddha secret. Après avoir présenté mes respects, j’ai fait le tour de la salle principale pour prendre quelques photos, bien que les photos ne soient pas autorisées à l’intérieur de la salle principale. Ce n’était qu’une partie de la photo, mais elle m’a rappelé le sentiment de dignité que j’avais ressenti à ce moment-là.
Les limbes des enfants
Il y avait une “rive de Sai” dans le sanctuaire intérieur ici, et j’y suis allé. On raconte que Jizo Bodhisattva a sauvé les enfants morts qui empilaient des pierres pour construire une pagode lorsqu’un gros démon l’a détruite. J’ai ramassé quelques feuilles d’automne tombées au sol pour les utiliser dans ma conférence de l’après-midi. (Fin)
