大阪梅田の太融寺

新西国三十三所は人気投票に基づいているので大阪市内にもいくつか寺院があります。その中でも第2番の太融寺は大阪市の北の中心地、梅田に近くアクセスも容易です。ここには木造千手観音菩薩立像がお祀りされています。

私が勤務する事務所がある中之島からも徒歩圏であるため、ある日の昼休みに訪問してみました。ただ、中之島のある南側から太融寺に行くには、途中ホテル街を通っていくことになります。というより太融寺の近くにホテル街があります。ＧＰＳ携帯を持つ身としては、あらぬ疑いがかからぬよう、遠回りしながら歩いていきました。

街中にあるお寺ですが、敷地はそこそこ広く、一服の安らぎを与えてくれる雰囲気があります。早速門をくぐり、中に入ってみました。おそらく何度もこの辺りは来ていると思うのですが、中に入るのは初めてでした。

オフィスワーカーがお参りに来られます

正面の本堂に向かい、観音様にお参りいたしました。オフィス街ならではでしょうか、サラリーマン風の方、OL風の方が途切れることなくやってきて、お参りされています。一人で来られる方がほとんどであり、何か生活のリズムの一つという感じで、昼休みのランチ帰りに立ち寄られているようです。

このお寺の境内の片隅には、大阪城から移祀された豊臣秀吉の側室、淀殿の墓があります。人知れずひっそりとたたずんでいる姿は、淀殿に似合わない気がしますが、現代の大阪の発展を静かに見守ってくれているのでしょう。（完）

Taiyuji Temple in Umeda, Osaka

The New 33 Temples of Western Japan is based on a popularity contest, so there are several temples in Osaka City. Among them, the second temple, Taiyuji Temple, is located in the northern center of Osaka City, near Umeda, and is easily accessible. The temple enshrines a wooden standing statue of the thousand-armed Kannon.

Since it is within walking distance from Nakanoshima, where my office is located, I visited it during my lunch break one day. However, to get to Taiyuji from the south side of Nakanoshima, you have to pass through the hotel district on the way, or rather, the hotel district near Taiyuji. As a person with a GPS phone, I took the long way around to avoid arousing suspicion.

Although the temple is located in the city, the site is quite large and has an atmosphere that gives you a sense of peace. I quickly went through the gate and went inside. I’ve probably been to this area many times, but this was my first time to go inside.

Office workers come to pay their respects.

I went to the main hall in front of the temple and paid my respects to Kannon-sama. There was a steady stream of office workers and office ladies coming to pay their respects. Most of them came alone and seemed to be stopping by on their way back to the office from their lunch break, as if it was part of their daily rhythm.

In a corner of the temple grounds, there is the tomb of Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s side wife, Yodo-dono, who was enshrined there after being moved from Osaka Castle. It may not seem fitting for Yodo-dono to be standing quietly and unseen, but she is probably quietly watching over the development of modern Osaka. (End)

Temple Taiyuji à Umeda, Osaka

Les 33 nouveaux temples du Japon occidental sont basés sur un concours de popularité, ce qui explique qu’il y ait plusieurs temples dans la ville d’Osaka. Parmi eux, le deuxième, le temple Taiyuji, est situé dans le centre nord de la ville d’Osaka, près d’Umeda, et est facilement accessible. Le temple abrite une statue debout en bois de la Kannon aux mille bras.

Comme il se trouve à quelques pas de Nakanoshima, où se trouve mon bureau, je l’ai visité un jour pendant ma pause déjeuner. Cependant, pour se rendre à Taiyuji depuis le côté sud de Nakanoshima, il faut passer par le quartier des hôtels sur le chemin, ou plutôt par le quartier des hôtels près de Taiyuji. Comme j’ai un téléphone GPS, j’ai pris le chemin le plus long pour ne pas éveiller les soupçons.

Bien que le temple soit situé en ville, le site est assez vaste et dégage une atmosphère qui vous donne un sentiment de paix. J’ai rapidement franchi la porte et suis entré à l’intérieur. J’ai probablement été à cet endroit de nombreuses fois, mais c’était la première fois que j’y entrais.

Les employés de bureau viennent présenter leurs respects.

Je suis allé dans le hall principal devant le temple et j’ai présenté mes respects à Kannon-sama. Il y avait un flot continu d’employés de bureau et de femmes de bureau qui venaient présenter leurs respects. La plupart d’entre eux venaient seuls et semblaient s’arrêter sur le chemin du retour au bureau après leur pause déjeuner, comme si cela faisait partie de leur rythme quotidien.

Dans un coin du temple, se trouve la tombe de l’épouse de Toyotomi Hideyoshi, Yodo-dono, qui fut enterrée là après avoir été déplacée du château d’Osaka. Il peut sembler inapproprié que Yodo-dono se tienne silencieuse et invisible, mais elle surveille probablement tranquillement le développement de l’Osaka moderne. (Fin)
